Word, some people just have passive personalities and avoid conflict or danger, so they opt to put their head down and ride it out because they don't want to agitate the aggressor even more.

I'm a passive person. I've never been sexually harassed or assaulted, but I have often done stuff that weren't in my best interest because I didn't want to deal with any ensuing conflicts, so I can see how someone being sexual assaulted will just go along and "do what the bad guy says" like a hostage.

The standard is a criminal trial is beyond a reasonable doubt. You can believe he probably did it but if you're not sure he did it beyond a reasonable doubt then you have to acquit. The prosecutor might have not wanted this case to go trial because he thought he would not be able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt.

Alot of prosecutors will not try a case unless they feel certain they can get a conviction. So even if they think Watson is guilty, they might steer the grand jury to not indict because they don't want to lose the case at trial because they couldn't meet the high burden of proof.

I think it's now obvious beyond a reasonable doubt that Deshaun was using these massage sessions as a tool to get sex from women. Whether he did anything criminal is still up for grabs. But I don't see any rational person buying Deshaun's claim that he was just looking for massages and nothing else.

I think the fact he was trying to get sex from women using massage sessions as a cover is enough by itself to warrant a lengthy suspension from the NFL. This is not the sort of behavior a league like the NFL wants to be associated with.
