They actually have a thing in the comics to address Magneto's age. There is a mutant who can take lifeforce energy from one person and give it to another.

So they collected a bunch of mutants who belieieved in Erik and they each volunteered a year of their own lives to him. So if Erik is roughly 85 now, and 90ish when he makes his Disney debut, then a room of 25 to 30 mutants giving him a spirit bomb of life force turning him into a 60/65 year old man again would not only work, it would be comic accurate too. And definitely a dope ass scene.

That way you could cast a 45 to 50 year old to play Erik and just give him grey wisps of hair that get greyer as the years go by.
