There's literally no other way for this movie to end. it's the perfect ending. it's science fiction...look up at the stars and you're seeing them as they were millions of years ago because light takes that long to reach here. time is relative and based on perception as well as having physical properties. the real point of this movie is if you knew the future of your child is to die at a young age of cancer and your husband would leave you would you still go through with it for all those years of happiness and love? movie was incredibleWas intrigued till that trash ending
The explanation that the language somehow transcended laws of time was also stupid

What does that have to do with the stupid language in this film helping a woman see the future......Opening your 3rd eye and decoding languages even in science helped up evolved..... it's what made us conscious and gain self-awareness to begin with.... without communication, we would be no different from the typical beast.
Their language itself is non linear, they write entire sentences at once conveying complex ideas instantly instead of one word at a time, it would be like writing with your left and right hand at the same time. studies have shown that learning a new language and immersing yourself in a new language/culture rewires your brain and can change perception. What does that have to do with the stupid language in this film helping a woman see the future......
The bytch was legit seeing the future because she decoded ink blots

So they had a baby after the arrival of the aliens?hawkeye doesn't experience time non-linearly like louise because he doesn't learn their language like she does. So he doesnt know the future like her
Correct. the movie makes it seem like Louise is remembering past events when she is really remembering the future. that's why at the start of the film she says "I used to think this was the beginning of your story, memory is a strange thing it doesn't work like I thought it did, we are so bound by time, it's order...." the gift the heptapods give the humans is their language, once you learn it you can perceive the future. since the future has already happened you can't change it, you're compelled to fulfill it even if you know what's going to happen. So they had a baby after the arrival of the aliens?
Your story really begins the day they departed...Hannah was conceived then
Just finished rewatching, this film is absolutely incredible. it is so fukking genius. there are so many layers..Louise taps the glass when she's in her home to get the attention of her daughter playing outside just like the heptapods..Hannah being her name, a palindrome..just incredible. this film gives me chills viewing it.
th-th-thecoli.comWatched half of this and I can already tell it's gonna be one of those movies that goes nowhere and ends stupidly
