That line is delivered AFTER the hug at the site. I just got back from a second viewing, and he asks her that question in her home, seemingly at least a bit into their relationship.

Even so, the line doesn't bother me because it is exactly how she would hear the question regardless of how either of them brought it up.

The movie is elevated on a second watch, imo. Everything comes into focus even more. Incredible film.

yeah but the actual "do you wanna have a baby" line was delivered in the future at an unknown time into their relationship after first contact. It could've been a year into their relationship for all we know, they would've definitely have had sex at that point.

I never said it wasn't. But you said almost the exact same thing as @HHR a few minutes later. Plus @gluvnast had said the same thing earlier in the week.
I'm just saying I'm still not crazy about the line but it didn't diminish my enjoyment of the movie whatsoever. Just a small nitpick

just saw this, was definitely a good movie although the end was super cheesy and the dialogue was cringeworthy at times. its story was more consistent than interstellar's, but interstellar had better visuals and acting.

I say that to women I've just met all the time.

I'll admit it has never worked but then again those women and I didn't go through a serious bonding experience involving interdimensional aliens so I think that's why it failed.

I havent read this thread yet. Went into the movie completely blind, didn't even see the trailer.

I was not captivated during the movie for a couple of reasons, but once the big reveal started to take shape I started to become profoundly effected and I am still a bit moved by it sitting here 2 hours later

It really touched me in a way that was deeply personal.

7 or 8/10 entertainment factor, 10/10 though in terms of its effect on me personally

Its a common thing a husband would say to his wife

It was off putting for a brief moment because it seemed to have happened at the alien site, but 5 seconds later when you realize its in the future it makes perfect sense
