The only problem with that is low & behold Thibs. He would most definitely defer to Fournier over Cam because.....he's a vet lol. We need to move all of our current vets (accept D-Rose if possible) off the team so he has no choice but to play the youth.

I don't trust Thibs bro
I was thinking the same the FO has to force thibs hand. Get rid of Fournier, Rose, and Randle.

I get that Charlotte got fukked over by the whole Miles Bridges situation, but if their pivot is to trade for Julius Randle then LaMelo better enjoy those big booty IG broads because that's the only happiness he'll have in Charlotte.
The pivot to Randle is the least important to them, a band-aid. They were supposedly trying to attach one of their lotto picks to dump Hayward; and they’d scoop a lakers pick in the process.

Grimes probably could start though… with a bench unit of Quick-Fournier-Cam-Melo-Hartenstein

I personally would rather play RJ at the 2 and Cam at the 3 tho.

Like aside from fans like @ISO, we all sat here and debated what was too much and where each of our individual lines were for Donny. If we would when gotten him for all the picks 23-27, i would have been uncomfortable but I would have made peace with it. But 25-29 is insane for us and frankly it’s crazy for the Cavs too. They’re not contenders and may never be. I’m seeing Cavs fans say now all they need is a 3 and D wing and they’re set and I bust out laughing like that’s not what every team is looking for. I guess they’re hope is to get that in the 24 draft cause that’s their next and last draft pick they control for the rest of this decade.

Everyone falling over themselves is annoying.
Teams want to compete and be formidable for prolonged stretches they want to give their squads a chance.

Who says they can’t be contenders? They are confident they can be.

Y’all are too championship or bust in your thinking.

And who said I didn’t sit here and debate what I was willing to give up when I was adamant early about keeping the Quickley+Toppin duo together. The tandem of players and picks that was reported early was steep for me.

With any other coach this would be great but with Thibs....:francis:

I would love to have Melo but I have no doubt he'd be playing him over Obi. Just like Fournier eating into Cam/Grimes/IQ's minutes just like he was playing Burks out of position for most of the season unnecessarily

People in here tripping over Donavan Mitchell :mjlol:

He hasn't done anything in his career but pout and make Brunson a house hold name :mjlol:
Which star player would you like then?

Why do Knicks fans fawn over Dejounte bytch ass and Gilgeous-Alexander players who have done less than Donovan Mitchell in their careers? :mjlol:

What Donovan Mitchell has done his career is make 3 All-Star teams, consistently lead his team to the playoffs with several 50 win seasons which the Knicks have done once in 20 years, and be a top 10 point per game scorer in playoff history

The next star player who may become available is Karl Anthony Towns. Are we going to be talking about his playoff flame outs and say he doesn’t make us a contender? :skip:

Only reason there’s “outrage” is because Mitchell is a new yorker

A real Knicks fan been thru the hard times, we would rather our home grown stars we build up in opposed to a bought championship.

Mitchell is a great player but doesn’t fit with Brunson.

If roles were reversed and Mitchell would have signed here before Brunson ask yourself, would you still want to trade for Brunson?

It’s basically the same tandem and picks that Cavs gave up.
Sexton=IQ (you don’t have to pay yet)
Ogbaji= Grimes (an older cost controlled player with real 3 and D upside)
Lauri= Fournier (purely a salary to match with a year less on his deal)
You came back in here saying we should have done whatever it took. I’m not even knocking you, your fukk the picks frame of mind isn’t a crazy one. It’s just the front office disagrees and I don’t think they’re wrong for doing so.

Now, from what we’re reading, our version of that trade, with the same amount of picks, wouldn’t have gotten it done because the Jazz wanted later picks instead.

Honestly, It's the fact that rookie-scale contracts are so cap friendly. I don't mind building the team without homegrown talent as long as the squad is good. But it's a lot easier to build around talented guys that can't ask for super max contracts.

But I agree with most of the rest. If Mitchell didn't have a bunch of reports saying "he's the Knicks' to lose" then I don't think the current panic attack would be happening. We're also up to our third president in a row who actually values first-round picks. So it's a lot easier to remember how the Joakim Noah contract set us back, but the damage from giving up picks as a mediocre squad in the Eddy Curry trade...easy to forget.

Am I lunching? Fournier would sit out entire 4th quarters. Thibs didn’t love him like he loved Burks. He barely averaged 30 mins a game.

All star teams are just popularity contest. I aint giving Donovan no stripes for selling a bunch of jerseys. And I give Gobert and his defense more credit for Utah success than Donovan because the second Gobert defense gets neutralized Utah flames out. If Donavan is that good how come he can't overcome that at least once in his career? Where is the playoff series where Gobert was getting ran off the floor but Donavan played well enough that it didn't matter.

50 win seasons...who gives a fukk :mjlol: . When I google the 50 win mvp player nothing comes up:mjlol:.

I have no clue why Cleveland even traded for him. Allen is one of their best players and we know 30 for 30 don't pass the ball to centers. Might as well trade Allen to since he about to get 2.2 touches a game :mjlol:

Which star player do I like? The one's who don't take 30 shots to get 30 points while getting cooked by Brunson:mjlol:
