Shai would be awesome and he has actual size
He's not getting traded. It literally makes no sense for OKC to trade him, they can't keep kicking the can down the road with a revolving door of young players. I mean they can trade with us for a bunch of picks(several of which they gave us so Im not sure they'd want those) but they'd be adding four or 5 first rounders to a team already stacked with lottery talent-why create an artificial log jam? If shai is traded it would likely be player for player, and we dont have anybody OKC would want.

Side note, shai is gonna be a monster. Donovan Mitchell is a better player than Shai NOW, mainly because Donovan is better shooter, especially off of the bounce, but Shai continues to tweak his jumper and it looks like less of a push shot now, so i wouldnt be suprised if Shai closes that gap next year. Breh is a smooth 3 level scorer, he definitely has the potential to average 30 a game at some point.

We'd have to trade Barrett, Obi AND Quickley to get him to be real.

They should definitely kick the can down the road. It’s one more season and this is THE draft to do it in. As of now, this could be one of THOSE drafts and keeping Shai makes them a team picking in the 8-12 range instead of the 1-5 range. But I do agree that they are in a bad place. The only thing they could get for Shai that makes sense is a really good 2nd year player like Scottie Barnes. Great potential but might not effect winning all that much yet.

This would have to be a situation where Shai demands a trade and the general nba community coming around him to shame the Thunder for constantly shelving this kid. Thunder would have to take a loss in that scenario and probably send him to his preferred destination to save face. Now, why that would be us, idk. Not really sure what moves that kid. He seems to really be into fashion so that might be in our favor. He’s from Toronto tho which would worry me if we were serious bidders.

Lol Shai played 56 games last season and they still wound up 24-58 with the #2 pick in the draft. Him being there doesn't effect shyt

In fact their winning percentage was worse with him on the floor than it was when he didn't play

The year before they were 18-24 before shutting him down.

Bad teams say this every year because they need to justify picking high. OKC can’t go into every draft thinking this is the year to grab someone because every year will feel like that.

Now if Shai is good enough to have OKC as a play-in team, then that’s progress.

And let’s be real. He got shelved once.
