What makes bubble guts Embiid that guy?

What makes Jaylen Brown that guy?

What has Dame done in the playoffs that Mitchell hasn’t? Make it one round further in many more tries.

What makes Carmelo that guy? Mitchell has been out the first round as many times as he has by the age of 25.

If there is anyone who hasn’t been that guy in the playoffs it’s James Harden.

Mitchell destroyed Westbrook as a rookie.

Mitchell has had a better career than Zach LaVine.

I’m still not seeing what makes a guy a guy. :mjlol:

Right only a handful players in history are really that guy.

Right now Giannis,Steph, and Bron to a smaller degree do to his age are "That Guy"

I want @ISO to explain to everyone in here why if Donovan Mitchell is mad nice like that and a “superstar” and is only 25 years old why is Danny Ainge, one of the best GMs in the NBA, tryin to trade him?

Why?

He’s tryin to trade him because he knows he can’t lead to a team championship and is a volume shooting Webster midget SG and he wants to rape some dumb ass team for all their picks by dumping this overrated midget

:what:

Then you said bu bu bu Toronto did it Toronto mismatched different lineups that season and they had Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakum

Where is Pascal and Kawhi on this Knicks team?

Where?

How has a guy with a 28/5/5 career playoff stat line who has taken the Jazz as far as they could possibly go given their talent level and roster flaws not proven he can excel consistently?

Who are those guys? Is Trae Young that guy because he made an ECF? Is Devin Booker that guy because his team made a Finals? People in here want Zach LaVine is he that guy even though he hasn’t done anything comparable to Mitchell?

Let’s get a breakdown of who those guys are and which ones could we possibly get? :lupe:
There’s like 3 guys in the league according to his criteria.

He’s trying to trade him because he wants out . They can’t progress any further and they didn’t hire his preferred coach .

I haven’t heard him request a trade

They can’t progress futher?

Well he already shipped out Gobert for players and 5 picks

If he’s that dude he would try to build around him

Ainge knows that Mitchell is not that guy he needs to build around

He’s a 6’1 SHOOTING GUARD who doesn’t defend and shoots too much

All you nikkas do is look at stats and THAT’S IT

Lots of trash takes from Knick thread randoms in here, particularly @Joe Sixpack and @GhostoftheMan

Lots of double talk bullshyt, saying not to waste your assets but then clown the Knicks for not making moves or not being able to make moves vibes.

Knicks got the assets and can hold on to a decent amount of the talent they've accumulated, as well as the picks they've stacked.

It's a clunky roster composition, but it's more collective talent that the team has had in some time.

If having too many illfit pieces means they gotta reconstruct to make better, that's still better than not having the pieces to do anything of consequence.

I don't like the move, but you make the move and figure it all out afterwards. You take the swing. You move towards respectability and thin the fat as necessary so it works.

But you don't send all your youth and all your picks. A balance of picks, redundancies and youth is the move. That makes the trade work. That justifies the haul. You accumulated all these picks just for this moment. You saved those bigger, not so favorable contracts to ensure you have the matching salary. You make the move and don't bat an eye.

BTW, all that corny ass chicken little it's Melo all over again talk needs to stop, too. That Melo trade made us a top team for a quick minute before injuries and a horrible Bargnani trade. I'd make that move every fukking time. Not wait and hope for him to come in free agency. fukk that. Make the move.

In short, a lot of yall really need to shut the fukk up about this because your takes are trash.

Respectfully.

Donovan is better than Beal and Lavine that shyt needs to be said. Shai too if were counting him as a permanent 2 guard. Also that little shyt is getting overblown for a guy that's built lile a tank. That man does not like like your typical 6'1" guy hes wide chested pause with long ass arms, he makes other guys around his height look small. Yeah he sucked this year in the playoffs but the Jazz were a team with poor chemistry that wasnt gonna go much farther regardless. Donovan was an absolute KILLER in the prior two playoffs and put on some all time great performances. Donovan has also shown 2 way ability too, and you can reasonably argue that man was gassed from carrying such a heavy payload for so long. On a team with few playmakers and shot creators, Donovan had to focus more on offense, he WAS the offense in a lot of ways, those shooters wouldnt be shyt without him .Here in NY though he'll start along 3 other guys who can create, score and play make to some extent at least. Also, Donovan is a guy who actually makes players better, and in general role players look better on winning teams, so we'll develop other role players who can replace Grimes and IQ and be used for trades. The war chest doesn't have to stay empty once used, and we're fretting over a team that does BETTER with late picks tgan early ones, so much so that you can argue our best pick in the last 5 years was a second rounder in Mitch. Lets stop acting like the last move we'll ever make is getting Spida, any executive ever worth their salt has been known to improvise a bit, and now its time for Rose to start doing the same.
