Kovalev has clearly beaten the better fighters but doesn't get 1/4 of the promo hbo gives a certain hard pucnching Eurocac :patrice:

I'm tryin g to figure out why :patrice:

Yup id have no problems if Kovalev was getting that Borat hype he's deserved it

I guess Kovalev needs a funny catch phrase to get that HBO push :beli:

-I never want to see Vasili Lambskin again, what a waste of a good record
-Chilemba remains an irritating threat, would love to see him get a shot against Brehmer

-USS Cunningham on the losing side of another disappointing decision. Tough break, but it was a close fight
-Glazkov will be DESTROYED by Wladimir Klitschko

-Jean Pascal's only real advantage (hand speed) lasted him as long as I thought he would, I'm glad he made it exciting on the way to the inevitable
-Kovalev gets caught up with leaving his hands too low and not moving his head when in punching range. He's so much better when on the balls of his feet and working from the outside with his jab. John David Jackson is a perfect trainer for him and keeping him disciplined during a fight. Let's just hope Stevenson is next, because I do believe he's a better boxer than Superman

Sorry to sound like a hater but....GGG is not a better fighter than Kovalev. at least there is no real proof or indication of that. Kovalev is a better boxer and believe it or not, better defensively. GGG dont move his head. He just looks so dominant because of his level of opposition. BHop and Pascal are leagues above anyone GGG is fighting.

while Kovalev may be a better boxer than Stevenson....the catch and counter Kronk style that Superman learned from Steward and Hill can have devastating results. Pascal is so one-dimensional. like @theflyest said...if Stevenson is active and sharp....he's a problem for anybody, Kovalev, Ward, etc....

No, but Kovalev does have to face Nadjib Mohammedi next, or at least offer him a substantial amount of step aside money...

Afterwards, unless the WBA pulls a similar situation like they just have with Ward and Froch by forcing him to "unify" with regular WBA champion Juergen Braehmer... he'll be free to face Stevenson next.

To be fair GGG does seem to have a personality. They also said Kovalevs an a$$hole.

Give him that stone cold steve austin push :francis:

He fights too flat footed and keeps his hands too low.......... Kovalev will take advantage and be more active, Stevenson will be looking for one shot.

The only x-factor I see is what I saw from Superman against Fonfara when he was in a similar situation. He simply said "fukk it" and turned it into an inside fight and out-fought Fonfara when it seemed he couldn't out-box him. His power and grit were very impressive, but would it be enough?

O, I don't know, but if I had to place bets on either man, it would be Kovalev.

I never really thought they were comparable. When I watch Kovalev, I'm like okay this dude is really nice. He gives me that feeling. GGG is a good fighter. He's entertaining. Good enough to beat his peers at 160. He's getting that HBO push & gets good ratings.

I think kovalev fighting Stevenson would be more of a risk cuz he has power but would end up a easier fight then Pascal.

Stevenson would be easier to touch and Steve from what I saw just has that jab and straight left.... he doesn't move his head much either.

I enjoyed the main event, pascal gets off balance too much with his punching but that counter right and left hook was connecting and made Sergey respect him.

Sergey gets on dudes early which helps him on the scorecards to survive those rough patches , but I think he's gonna have trouble with an athletic fighter who can move and bring the fight to him if he can't stop him.

I thought Cunningham won but he faded late and you just can't do that especially with the judges, we never know how they leaning.

His daughter is definitely an inspiration. Loved to see that story. Boxing really been bringing good fights lately and got more to come.
