Man... you DO know we are talking about comic book Superman, right?
Actually to be exact, they were using a COMPREHENSIVE Superman and a COMPREHENSIVE Goku. Which means any and all feats count for both, so long as they don't contridict anything already established from the original sources the comics/mangas. ANYTHING you see in the cartoon is watered down.
However I can show you comic scans if you'd prefer
superman was beaten with punches in the comics, so why can't Goku do it?
Who did superman use this planet destroying punch on?
Nobody has time to read a million comics, they have no continuity with each other to discover superman's feat
bottomline, he has super strength, can run and fly fast, shoot laser beams from his eyes, and has freeze breath
these are his powers point blank period. All that other shyt is made up by individual writers who did not create the character.
A direct kamehameha into the Earth would destroy the planet, which is why Goku always aims in a direction where it won't impact it.
You gloss over Goku's competition, Goku was killed by a direct attack at close range while he was defenseless, same move that Piccolo use to the destroy the Moon FROM EARTH.
And this is when he was considered weak, super saiyan is more than enough to beat Superman, that didn't even show any difference in his power when they changed form.
