WARREN KNOWS DRE IS BETTER THAN HIM

U CAN HAVE BUZZ N NOT BLOW UP

DRE IS THE REASON 50 BLEW UP

Dre Em and Jimmy Iovine.

50 was always going to be successful though he was too talented a song writer and had a great story.

Also ‘This DJ’ is equal to any Dr Dre beat solely produced by Warren G.

Funny bc I was just goin back to Get rich or die tryin and realized a shyt ton of records Dre didn’t even produced. Then did the same with Documentary. I was gon make a ‘Dr. Dre is low key overrated’ thread but didn’t wanna get banned :francis:

Produced only 4 songs on GRODT (not being Many men, 21 Questions, or PIMP), Documentary he produced 4 tracks (not Hate it or love it, or Runnin), “co-produced” every track on 2001 with Mel Man :patrice:

Didnt produce my favorite song of the album the Message:martin:

THE FACT THAT THE MESSAGE IS YOUR FAVORITE SONG OFF 2001 IS TELLING

This topic comes up every once in a while, but I always wonder how people like Havoc, RZA, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, DJ Quick, Large Professor, etc were able to produce all those classics as mere 'beatmakers' but Dr Dre is a 'real producer' even though he has a whole team of people bringing in stuff, and a whole squad of engineers to finish the product.
Dre was just more famous and was able to control his own narrative.

WHAT DOESNT HE? RZA IS VERY SIMPLE AND A LOT OF HIS TALENT WAS IN FINDING DOPE SAMPLES AND CAPTURING AN ENERGY

NOT IN LAYERING, STRUCTURING, FINE TUNING ETC

A LOT OF RZA PRODUCTIONS ARE SONICALLY SUB-PAR

That’s not to do with his production though but his vision as a Ceo and his affiliation with Jimmy Iovine. How can you credit hun for 50 cent success when 50 was buzzing before he met him, had like 3 tracks of his produced by Dre on his first album and was signed to the biggest rapper in the world?

Warren G can be just as talented as Dre and still not attain the level of success because of business savvy and key connections, it’s like some people think talent is all what it takes, it isn’t.

Vision and talent scouting are key attributes of a great producer.

Y’all write Dre off like he didn’t create:

1. The most impactful hip-hop group of all time in the 80s.
2. Rap’s most iconic artist in Snopp in the 90s
3. Two of the most well known hip hop albums in Chronic and Chronic 2001.
4. The best selling rapper in history
5. Hottest rapper of the 2000s.

Y’all gotta stop.

The discrediting that goes on is weird as fukk when it comes to Dre...

It even runs so deep that people are willing to believe Suge Knight- the guy who hates Dre so much, he lost his freedom trying to start shyt with him 20 years after they stopped working together... as if he'd actually say anything positive about him at this point in life :pachaha: Of course he's gonna say Dre didn't do anything, what else would Suge Knight say? Bottom line, if Dre did nothing, contributed nothing, etc. at Death Row... then surely, Death Row would have gone on for years dropping more amazing music after Dre departed and it would be like he never left... right?
