This doesn't get talked about a lot, but Quik did a hell of a job with mixing that album. If you listen to the demo version of AEOM

Daz has a history of stretching the truth. Not nearly as much as Suge, but Daz Tales are pretty hilarious.

She may have been in there with Dre for the Dogg Food sessions, but pretty sure Daz did the initial beat. I'm guessing this was the original beat Daz made:

Before Dre mixed the beat for Tha Dogg Pound album

SO NOW WHEN U LISTEN TO THAT OFTB JOINT N THEN LISTEN TO “RESPECT”

DOES THAT SOUND TO U LIKE JUST A MIXING DIFFERENCE?

LOL

No you can't. His Mell Man co-produced stuff sounds way different than his Scott Storch co-produced works. Don't forget Bud'dha's ish, The Glove's ish...

AND YET U CAN STILL ALWAYS TELL WHEN ITS DRE BEHIND IT

Why does Dre need to be given beats from other producers to “fix up” why can’t he do it himself from scratch :mjlol:

HE CAN.. HES DONE BOTH ALL THROUGH HIS CAREER

HE DOESNT NEED IT, ITS JUST PART OF TEAMWORK, WHICH IS VITAL TO BUILDING ENERGY.. HAVING A TEAM TO WORK WITH ALWAYS WILL PRODUCE THE BEST RESULTS..

THAT GOES FOR ANYTHING IN LIFE

Where he credits himself as he sole producer 😂

That’s goes back to the origins of this thread

YOU EXPOSIN YASELF BRUH

DRE HAS MADE BEATS FROM SCRATCH SINCE NWA

AND THE BEST PRODUCERS OF ALL TIME ALL USE SESSION PLAYERS & BEAT MAKERS WHO SOMETIMES COME UP WIT CONCEPTS & BRING IN BEATS FOR THEM TO REWORK (DJ QUIK, TIMBALAND ETC)

This topic comes up every once in a while, but I always wonder how people like Havoc, RZA, Q-Tip, Pete Rock, DJ Quick, Large Professor, etc were able to produce all those classics as mere 'beatmakers' but Dr Dre is a 'real producer' even though he has a whole team of people bringing in stuff, and a whole squad of engineers to finish the product.
You naive if you think these are doing it all by themselves. When they were young maybe, but as they got successful they had "help" from the beat making to the mixing process.
These guys do the same thing Dre does, but their "help" is not getting interviewed a thousand times

Yet there is no discussion about who produced the five year run in Wu Tang, Hell on Earth, Tribe albums, Gang Starr albums, or the beats Premo did for Nas, Biggie etc. Or the Beatminers for Black Moon, Smif n Wessun, etc.
It's not even that I'm trying to bash Dre's production work, I was just pointing out the double standard where having a whole team of co producers brought in is seen as being a 'real' producer when it concerns Dr Dre, yet there's countless classic records where we can more or less tell there weren't as many people involved.

It doesn't go back to the origins of this thread because the origins of this thread is just based on statements made by Suge. Suge controlled who got credit for what. He was the label head.

I do believe there's a nugget of truth in this. I still remember in one of them unreleased Pac disses, that nikka said "DRE AINT MADE A BEAT IN 6 YEARS :pacspit: "

:pachaha:

I love those albums and projects but they were not as big The Chronic, Doggystyle, or any big project was involved in.
Dr Dre is a big name that's why people want to dicuss Dre's work almost 40 years later

There's also a HUGE difference in the production styles, I was gonna break it down but why bother ...

CLEARLY NOT IF MULTIPLE PEOPLE IN THIS THREAD HAVE SAID AMBITIONZ AINT ON THE LEVEL OF DOGGYSTYLE PRODUCTION

ITS A GREAT BEAT BUT THE SIMPLICITY OF IT DOESNT TOUCH THE LAYERING ALL THROUGHOUT DOGGYSTYLE
I don’t have a problem with that opinion. Those people acting like it’s some weak beat. And just because it’s a simple piano beat and not layered like the stuff on Doggystyle doesn’t take away from it. The original argument is that Daz doesn’t have any beat that sounds as good as Doggystyle but nikkas posted good examples of that not being true.
