I think the quoted percentage is in the 90s for people who lose weight and regain. Usually they gain back more than they lose. ObeseToBeast said it best. He lost a lot of weight and he said he got lucky that his addictions lined up with losing the weight and keeping it off.Harsh

Going to the gym is more about building up physical health and endurance than about losing weight. Weight loss is almost all diet. Eating to a caloric deficit and finding balance will determine your weight.
