I know folks that do natty bbing too, including a boss with an IFBB pro card. :unimpressed:

Dieting down to single digit bodyfat for a few hours on stage doesn't mean shyt in the context of this discussion.

You also neglected the fact that natty BBers do way more reps/sets and conditioning than non-athletes do, so using them as an example is disingenuous.

Nothing you say or post is gonna change my mind on this my dude; it's possible to outwork a "bad" diet but most folks simply don't work hard enough. :manny:
i never said its impossible. everybody i know, including myself... sees more results when you actually change your diet. dieting is way harder than going to the gym. and when you do both, its the most optimal.

I think people try to go cold turkey and that’s what makes it hard for them to stick to a diet.

It’ll put a bunch of water weight on him if he doesn’t work out enough to sweat it out. I used to drink a gallon daily without doing some real workouts
Water weight ain’t his problem and the body generally regulates that. He may not need a gallon to the tee but being hydrated will only help him.

I see we are back to just throwing out advice without any thought behind it.

yeah extreme dieting is hard to stick to. but avoiding fried foods, breads and junk isn't as hard. Eating intentionally is what i try to do most days. but now im probably going to count calories too just to prove a point lol

There are plenty of ways to increase efficiency without dramatically increasing time:
  • Super/giant setting lifts
  • Doing more barbell compounds and fewer band/cable/machine isos
  • Doing more compounds in general
  • Taking shorter rest periods, especially if it's not a heavy barbell lift
  • Increasing weekly workout frequency
  • Doing more MISS/HIIT cardio sessions over LISS sessions
And that's just off the dome and only gym/workout shyt, not even other little "life hacks" one could do.
Ahh I know who you are now. You changed your name. But anyway, yeah I know this. As well as pushing yourself to failure. But it’s funny to say this but think anyone can outwork a bad diet. People achieve optimal results if they eat better and workout.

Never said outworking a bad diet was optimal, just that it's possible. :manny:

And this is exactly why I was questioning it:francis::francis::francis:

Brehs really just be on the coli posting bullshyt out they ass about working out like it's gospel. :picard:

Depending on how much dude weighs and where he lives (climate) and does for work, a gallon might be undershooting his goal, even when added with fluids from other sources. :dame:

No wonder all these trainers and instafluencers are eating offa folk's collective ignorance. :mjcry:

Add in "body positivity" and it's a whole-ass wrap for hyoo-mons. All these fat folks gonna need to go the way of the dinosaur before folks get it reeled back in.

Losing weight can be tough and it gets harder as we age. However, there are plenty of things we can do to lose weight and keep it off:
1. Exercise. The best exercise regime for weight loss is simple. A regime that combines weight, callisthenics and cardio training. That's it. Nothing special.
2. Diet. Eat less processed foods. Drink more water. Drink less sugary drinks. Less alcoholic beverages. That's it.
3. Consistency. Keep doing rules 1 and 2 every day. If you say you're going to the gym 3 times a week, then make sure you do it. If you say, you're not going to eat any chocolate, then do it. If you say, you're going to drink less alcohol, then do it. It's going to be tough and you will slip up, we're all human, don't lose heart and beat yourself up over it. However, if you keep at it, in time, you'll see and feel the results.
