no…this is where the hate came from @ the bold…ppl trying to marginalize the many serious problems/issues the game launched with…and this is coming from someone who still enjoyed the game despite that up until it was literally unplayable due to the many bugs that afflicted it…the game literally had to be removed from the PS store

Right. Now in 2023 its a 9.5/10 ass game

On release no way

which was bs considering the other mess that gets a complete pass lol.... the vast majority of that shyt was just manufactured content for clicks - the proof being those laughable refund numbers which wasn't even a fraction of the reddit page following it all

fallout 76 not getting deplatformed but cp did?

internet motherfukkers can really talk themselves into anything to the point where people on the outside looking in start to believe them

One of those actually worked lmao

Cyberpunk was an absolute mess on last gen consoles. It was never made for those and it showed. XB1X and PS4 pro maybe. But they announced it too early and got tied around releasing it on platforms they knew couldn't really run it even with optimization

FO76 was just kinda trash but functional trash. Great state now but FO77 was nowhere near 2076 on last gen when it launched

Was still my game of the year the year it came out. I remember myself @Gizmo_Duck and @42 Monks being level headed about the game. It was a good game, maybe a great game that got hated on for a bunch bullshyt ass reasons for the most part.

People really need to become more critical about games, even the ones they like. In no way was the criticism this game received unwarranted. Liking a game does not mean ignoring the flaws/problems that everyone else sees. The issues related to performance/stability and bugs/glitches were enough to cause outcry, not to mention everything else.

You liked it, cool, good for you but that still does not make the game at launch good and any negative reviews witch hunts.

I had it on PC as well and although it ran "better" than consoles, the amount of glitches and bugs plus game design killed my enthusiasm for the game. With how the game is looking now and the DLC coming up, i will start a new character and beat the game.

this is exactly the disconnect im talking about

FO76 would save the game in ways that literally locked your character into animations or without menus entirely not to mention it was fukked up to its source code meaning it would always churn out conflicts with its own engine no matter the platform

CP was 'fixed' as soon as people were convinced it was good again by an anime :dead: most can't even tell you what patch it was or when it dropped. people tell on themselves constantly by pointing out skill tree shyt lol.

FO76 was so fukked up that the community would get mad at Bethesda patching the game at all because it broke all the mods the community itself created to unfukk everything

FO's community was so pissed they crowdfunded a whole ass spin off that did better than legitimate releases from other companies in the same timeframe lol

-> Fallout Miami

night and day. its not the same argument at all, and if you think it is - you're just regurgitating comment section stuff

There are games that relerease on playstation everyday that are more broken then my experience with cyberpunk was that don’t get taken off the store. It got taken down becuase everyone decided to make it their entire content rollout for two months and it got more attention than other games.

Why wasn’t the GTA remaster taken off?

The game was damn near unplayable on PS4, hence why Sony let people with digital copies to refund the game and stop it from being sold on the store. The game was in a shyt condition at release, because frankly it was not finished and pushed out to avoid another release date. It ran better on PC and the next gen systems, but they still had to deal with the jank. I dont recall ever hearing that 76 had so many structural issues that people could not run it.

Another developer being championed for digging a hole, jumping in it, an digging out of it. :mjlol:

They done tricked the public into thinking this is somehow an "overhaul" of the game when all they doing is releasing the game they should have released 2 years ago :mjlol:.

They had a whole roadmap of stuff and all they did was release one story DLC and some skins for clothes and characters :mjlol:

Remember how cool the multiplayer for this was supposed to be :mjlol:

"damn near unplayable" as much as MK1 is on Switch currently, yeah:unimpressed:

online games discussion picks and chooses what it cares about - even over cut and dry topics like money. the deplatorming didn't stop CDPR sales traction at all for its duration and the refund policy never amounted to more than 10k returns on a game that cleared millions. the discussion and the numbers *never* added ud.

meanwhile you've got a game so bad that people crowdfund not only the game itself but the legal defense of the name of a franchise because they're fed up. a community made a whole game in one instance. in the other, mostly talk.

the news that gets circulated around games is garbage.

So you really think that the game was not patched over almost two years it was released? Do you really think that? Do you think that the game was not fundamentally improved over those two years? Bugs, glitches, errors and performance issues were not worked on during that time? Here are all of the updates to the game before Edgerunners came out:

Patch 1.1

This patch was almost entirely emergency “put the fires out” fixes for quest progression bugs and performance issues. This also fixed an issue with save files that were becoming too large and eventually corrupted. It also introduced an infamous new bug where you’d get stuck on a Takamura quest, which was eventually fixed.

Patch 1.2

This was a massive patch, 8,000 words of patch notes, which again, was 99% fixes, and the word “fix” appeared 274 times in the patch notes. But there were some in-game changes.

  • Police would now spawn further away when summoned rather than directly on top of you.
  • Gorilla Arms damage was buffed 20%
  • The item to reset perk points had its cost reduced.
  • You could now craft multiple items at once, and some costs were reduced.
  • NPC would no longer stay as frozen when afraid in the midst of combat.
  • Delmain will now no longer constantly call you if you’re in the region where one of his quests take place.
  • Car controls were improved and you can now unstick your car with a control option.

CDPR
Patch 1.3

This arrived in August of 2021, and started to add more fan-requested changes to the game.

  • GPS was now more zoomed out so you would not miss turns as often and could better see where you’re going.
  • You can now more easily redistribute your Perk points and for less money.
  • Higher difficulty levels buffed enemy detection of players, searching for them more aggressively.
  • A new Optical Camo mod was added that allowed you to become invisible.
  • Adam Smasher drops actual loot when killed.
  • NPCs no longer stay hiding in cover when you flank them.
  • Vehicles will honk and drive around V instead of just hitting you.
  • NPCs now have a dying animation attached to the Short Circuit quickhack.
  • NPCs will not react by crouching to every gunshot.
  • NPCs will no longer randomize appearance when you look away from them and back.
  • Legendary clothing schematics are now permanently available in shops.
  • You can now double jump during phone calls.
  • You can now fast climb or slide down ladders.
  • Shards are now in correct categories.
  • Judy will now leave a gift in your apartment after she texts you post-romance side quest.

This patch also brought with it the game’s first “free DLCS”:

  • Two jackets from Vic you find in your stash.
  • The Quartz Bandit car from Rogue if you side with her during the Panam quest.
  • A different (worse) look for Johnny you can turn on or off in the starting menu.

Patch 1.31

This was a relatively minor patch that brought with it a few fixes from the much larger 1.3, but this was the patch where I really started to notice a visual transformation in the game, as specific improvements were made to wet/reflective surfaces.

CDPR
Patch 1.5

This was an absolutely massive patch in February 2022 for the launch of the game on next-gen consoles that was so big, they actually just skipped 1.4 entirely.

  • They completely reworked many aspects of the perk tree, removing pointless perks and buffing or changing others. They refunded everyone’s points so they could respec.
  • They significantly changed the entire concept of Throwing Knives, no longer making it so you had to literally go and pick up your knife again, but making the knife auto-return to your hand, with better knives returning more quickly.
  • They overhauled many aspects of combat AI to make enemies smarter in combat, taking cover more often.
  • Further driving improvements were made with better braking, handling, cornering and the ability to do burnouts.
  • Crowd AI was updated where pedestrians will now not all act the same way, some will flee, others will fight, some will panic and crash their cars into things.
  • Fixers now have a mission counter so you can tell when all their gigs are done. They each give you a special reward when you finish their mission chain, usually a weapon or car, which you can find at your home.
  • The entire economy was rebalanced giving out more cash rewards, and making cars and guns cheaper.
  • New weapons were added in this patch you could purchase or find in the wild.
  • You could change your appearance in the mirror for the first time since launch.
  • You can now buy various apartments throughout the city, four in total.
  • Love interests were more fully fleshed out with more text conversations and the ability to wake up next to them when sleeping at your place or their place.

Patch 1.6

And this is it, the last patch that was launched just ahead of Edgerunners. This is also the last patch that will launch for last-gen consoles, as future ones will only be next-gen/PC.

  • A new quest tied to the show which ends with you receiving David’s jacket from the series.
  • New weapons hidden around the map from the show, and other weapons, both guns and melee, that are now available to find or buy in the game.
  • Three full new Gigs from different fixers in two regions of the map, the game’s first true new missions since release.
  • Full appearance customization available at last, allowing you to change almost everything about yourself at Ripperdocs.
  • Transmog, where you can wear your powerful items and reskin them with saved looks that you create out of your wardrobe in one of your apartments.
  • Cross-progression has been added through cloud saves between console and PC.
  • REDmod launched for help with installing and managing mods on PC.

So you really think a show that released two years after the game came out is what made people say the game is good now? Are you serious?

Not sure where you are getting the 10k from, since by their own admission CDPR had about 30k returns through its specific return program at the time. That does not include refunds through Steam, Sony, Microsoft or any other retailer that sold the game.

On the call, they also relayed how many refunds were issued as a result of the game’s performance problems, bugs, missing expected content and more. CDPR said they issued just 30,000 refunds compared to 13.7 million sales, which is making a lot of headlines, but that number doesn’t quite tell the whole story.

Those 30,000 refunds are the ones that went through CDPR’s “Help Me Refund” which is a program they set up to help deal with the flood of refund requests pouring in for the unfinished game. While I don’t believe those 30,000 refunds are only GOG sales like some are saying, as they also were suppose to help people with refunds for Steam, Microsoft and Sony if needed, there are likely a lot more refunds issued outside of that through normal processes in those marketplaces. And it does not include possible refunds by retailers like Best Buy or Walmart or Amazon.

How many refunds are missing? That’s unclear, and those numbers would have to be reported directly by the companies, which they won’t. Sony famously had to set up a unique digital refund program for Cyberpunk 2077 because they didn’t have a policy at all, but the cost was taking digital copies of Cyberpunk off the store entirely for all PlayStation platforms, both PS4 and PS5.
