I've just about Finished watching the Rocky Movies from the 1st 1. I've never watched the Rocky Balboa Film so it was nice to finally see it, I've been through them all since Thanksgiving and I'm just topping it all off with Creed then going to see Creed 2 today.

Drago was blackballed and couldn't get his son a decent fight. Ivan Drago never won the title, he was an amateur boxer prior to fighting Creed in an exhibition. He killed Creed in the ring but then he told the Soviet leaders to go fukk themselves right before losing the title fight to Rocky. Of course they disowned him. It wasn't about his ex-wife, it was about being the man for your whole life then losing it all, she was just one more thing he lost. Ivan wanted his son to receive the rewards his talent should have given him but he couldn't have because of his failure.

If you saw Rocky 1 then you know that Apollo was a smart businessman in addition to being a great boxer. Part of the reason shown for why Rocky did as well as he did in their first fight was that Apollo was so busy taking care of the business side of the fight that he wasn't taking his training seriously enough. He under estimated Rocky.

As for why Rocky was broke by comparison, in Rocky 5 Paulie "invested" a bunch of Rocky's money with a crooked financial adviser that robbed him for most of his dough.

Rocky V came out in 1990-91 so the main events from that movie and the relationship with Rocky Jr. was all within that year. You never going to expect subtitles detailing what actual year it is. But you know time passed from 1975 and so forth. to include the birth of his son, when his son was in grade school to when he's in high school and all of that is part of the progression.

Basically feels like his issue is with the fact that Sage looks the same after the fight with drago as he does when hes training tommy 4-5 years later...just a simple miscalculation from the filmakers imo.

Just got back from it, loved it...first was still better but id put it up there with rocky 3. Better than 4,5,6....possibly better than 3 but i only seen it once.

the first one was 10x better than this one. i really wished ryan coogler directed the second one

When they were about to scrap, I was like:
