damn breh that's a helluva comeback. i'm in the 780s. only two CCs one w/ Bank of America and one is the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards Card. how is that Sapphire tho? i know it feels like a stick of gold in your hands. @pete clemenza you still think it's better than the Amex cards? if I have no relationship w/ Chase would I have to get the Freedom/Slate first before jumping to Sapphire?
Go straight for the Sapphire Preferred if you like.. Chase will perform the same credit pull/check for any three of those cards. The Freedom and Slate have no annual fees. I believe the Sapphire is $99 bucks a year annual fee plus the Sapphire is good if you travel alot cause you can transfer the points you earn to the hotels and airlines that Chase has lined up with that card. I think the Amex card that goes head up with the Sapphire is the Amex Gold Premiere Rewards card but that's a annual fee of $190 a year but you do get a $100 travel credit a year to use for baggage fees, onboard entertainment, and onboard food. But if you don't fly and utilize the hundred dollar credit then your paying the entire $190 a year.

Chase Freedom is more for everyday spending and the Slate is basically for balance transfers because they'll have a 18 month 0% interest introductory period. But do a google search on whether Amex's MR points are more valuable than Chase Sapphire's UR points or vise versa. Also Chase Sapphire is made out of metal so panties might drop when you pull it out to pay for sh*t:win:

No I don't churn. I got a really good credit score so I don't app or acquire a lot of inquiries to much. I keep my lineup short and to the point:

Amex Blue Cash
Barclays Arrival+
US Bank Cash+
BOA Travel Rewards

I might cop the Amex Gold Premier Rewards in the future.. If you app for the Sapphire find the 40,000-50,000 point bonus. Only thing is you have to spend like $3,000 in the first 3 months of opening the account.

I havent read all 9 pages, but i just turned 22 last week:

-Ive never had a credit card, but my credit was "good" to pass my background check for the military because ive held a steady job and make payments on time (kay jewelers, best buy, etc)
-Had a friend back home saying he's going to get a credit card to "build up" his credit..in actuality he should be straight .
-Right now im just gonna hold off on getting one until i have kids or something:yeshrug:. When i buy a new car or house i can probably finance it through them.

All i got right now:patrice:

In 2014 I was on a mission to build my credit. I got fukked in 2011 when I bought my car. Needed a cosigner even after my significant down payment + trade in. Got my locked into a 61 month loan which thankfully I'm about to pay off completely in two more months.

My score was in the mid 600s, mostly because I didn't have much established credit and I had let some of my loans go delinquent but thankfully around 2014 the only debt I had was from my car loan.

Now I have two primary cards, a Chase Freedom and now a Chase Sapphire Preferred.

Chase Freedom they started me at $3,500. Having that shot up my credit score a bit since it was 'established' credit. No cosigner. A few months later I asked for a CLI which was probably a minor mistake since it was a hard pull and they only upped it to $4,400.

Anyways, I just kept using it. They bumped it to $8,400. Paid on time. Good habits. I tried to get my APR lowered a few weeks ago and they denied it which was bullshyt, but they allowed me to increase my credit limit without a hard pull so now it's at $14,400.

I'm doing a lot of travel this summer and I wanted the Holy Grail that is the Chase Sapphire Preferred so I got it. They gave me a $19,000 limit with a lower APR than the Chase Freedom so I'm fukking excited.

My credit score floats between 760 - 770 on Credit Karma. Just keeping my income to debt ratio really low. I've been guilty of carrying a balance especially now with my new job transition but for the most part I keep my utilization really low. So right now:

CarCare One: $1,400
Chase Freedom: $14,400
Chase Sapphire Preferred: $19,000

fukk using all the credit though lol it's a trap. It's good to have buying power though if I want to pull out a loan for a business or maybe my first house. It took me about a year and a half to get where I'm at credit wise. Now trying to reach 800. :shaq:

Just got an update on Credit Karma due to my HP from Chase.

Credit Utilization isn't reported right. That's from early April when I was buying a lot of crap for my home. Plus it thinks my CL is at $9800 but now it's around $35,000.

4 Hard Pulls as you can see. Two from Chase over the past year or so. It dropped my TransUnion score down 7 points temporarily. My oldest HP should fall off in about two months.

Still my TransUnion and Equifax scores are showing as 750/770 right now. When that higher credit limit hits it should increase both of them by 10-15 points.

I've paid off all of my credit card debt, and pretty much all of my debt outside of my student loans, and I pretty much live a life without credit. If I can't afford it then I can't afford it. I've had debt (that seemed insurmountable at the time) before and that shyt just adds too much unnecessary stress to my life. Listened to a lot of Dave Ramsey and realized I can live my life without the debt at all.

Centurion Lounge aiport access alone has me :blessed:
I love buying nosebleeds to Lakers and Clippers game then posting up in the lounge there too.

I like my charge card. Revolving accounts require too much discipline. I keep them open though so the trade lines are there.

AMEX is a cool charge card. I go a corporate card for work. I like the idea of that.

Yea the goal is to buy what you can afford, put it on credit and pay it off every month.
That's pretty much what I do. I do not carry any balance. I put everything on credit, then at the end of the month, I pay it off.
It also helps that I have no debt.:ehh:

bank raised the limit and interest on one of my cards and in addition gave me a HELLUVA credit line about 4 years ago - I almost fell into the trap- at one point was paying over 200/mo in interest charges (combined debt)...but I will be living that interest free life in two months...Carmax keep plotting too...keep sending me incentives to trade my car in now that its paid off...nah not falling for that one either
