Just applied for my second credit card ever and got curved. Currently at the lower third of the 700s. I need to get a rewards card eventually but will probably try again when my score is in the 750s or better

Rewards cards usually require a higher credit score. My first 2 were Chase Freedom and Discover It. I was probably in the 720 range when I got them.

All this drip on me
Lowering my utilization rate has paid off and I'm in the low 700s now. Debating on what my second card should be.:wow:

Once you finally get on the path of achieving solid/good credit - the good habits you've picked up on the way there stick with you. I don't even think twice about doing some of the dumb shyt I did in the past.:mjlol:

Yeah I built up to an 850 FICO score over the span of 4 years from 670. My score has fallen a bit because I no longer have a credit card debt consolidation loan or any installment loan so I'm at 809 but I haven't payed any credit card company any interest in over 5 years.

I don't buy stuff I don't have the money in the bank to pay off by the end of the month anymore. Back when I was younger I just bought stuff and made the minimum payment to keep them off me. That was pretty stupid. I remember when I got the place I'm at now I applied for a Chase Freedom and was denied. 2 years after that Chase was sending me offers for the Freedom pre-approved. My interest rate is sky high on it. Like 18% but I've never paid them a cent of interest so I don't even bother calling them to lower it.

Having a credit card is a huge curse, I implore all of you to pay that shyt off asap. It really mentally fukks you in the head when interests fukks you over. I was going crazy over a 1500 dollar credit card debt that kept piling up in interest, so glad i paid that shyt off.

Go ahead and get that. Sapphire Preferred is legit. If you can combine that with the Chase Freedom Unlimited you be eating real good off the reward points. Right now those are the only 2 cards I use. CSP for dining and travel (2x points) and CFU for everything else.
