My score is 745. Will be higher after it updates this month. You need credit, might as well use it properly.

I only have a shytty Discover card that gets 1% one everything, but 2% on gas and restaurants. Dont own a car or eat out much, so it sucks. It does have free FICO scores, so that's a plus. Discover was the only one to give me a card when my score was 590 after fukking up in my teens. Going to move on though, might keep it for the FICO stuff, but idk.

Yea I'm traveling to San Francisco for a family trip and probably somewhere else within the next three months so I'm taking advantage of it. May turn it into s regular sapphire before the annual feel but honestly it's a solid card for travel.
Regular sapphire doesnt exist anymore.

I got an offer for the Preferred. Probably going to do that. I want to travel a lot more sooner than later, even within the US. It will be worth it for me.

I'm also looking at the Freedom Unlimited card which gives 1.5% back on all purchases. plus 150 cash bonus when you spend 500 in the first 3 months

Credit score went down 6-8 points because my new account is finally reflecting. That's normal. Should normalize soon.

Applied for the Sapphire Preferred and they sent me a denial letter saying delinquent or derogatory relationship with chase. I never had a chase card before, but they were counting my WaMu card from '08 (chase took them over during the crash). These nikkas aint even care about the past 7 years :heh:

Called their reconsider line, and spoke with a nice hispanic lady and your boy got approved with a 5k credit line :ahh:

Also converted my shytty Gas and Restaurant Discover card, to the 5% rotational/1% everything else card. :ahh:

We cookin now brehs :ahh:

Hell yea @GunRanger !

Credit Karma is free. So are Quizzle, Credit Sesame, Credit.com...of course there's paid services if you want them. They are also not FICO scores but they are still worthwhile scores. Chase used my VantageScore which is on Credit Karma to determine my credit worthiness.

Anybody know a way to ask for an increase in credit limit without having a job? How much should I ask for? I work tax free. My limit is at 2500 right now

Last time I checked it was like 10 points under excellent

They don't know that you don't have a job, they normally just ask what your annual income is. I really only ask for CLI's if there's no inquiry. If there is, I let them increase it on their own. If you can afford the inquires, then do it.

Who is your card with? I have capital one and all I have to do is fill out a form. I also call every year or so for an APR adjustment.

I was gonna fill the form out but then I was like what if the check my background and see I don't have an income, I don't want that to backfire

It's a Visa card from a major Canadian bank

Have had just one $500 limit credit card for about 3 years now. I only use it to build my credit score. I was in the 720 range a month ago and then got hit with an old tax lien from another state which I had no idea I even. Wrote to all 3 credit bureaus explaining the situation to have it removed and only 1 agreed (experian :blessed:) Me personally, Ill just rather stack ACTUAL LIQUID money into my accounts. If you're in a jam, first thing you will do is use your credit. That's the "trap" and that's why I keep my limit of 500. Not even tempted to ask for more. A tank of gas a month =5-10% utilization=100 points in 2 years

Waiting to see how my score is affected after being approved for this new credit card. It's a 5k limit, my highest one. This is gonna help my credit utilization big time. I'm barely using 5% as it is and I'm likely gonna pay a balance off this next check. I got two capital ones. One with just the gym membership and the other with just my streaming services and on automatic payment. I think I'm gonna stick with this new card, bank americard rewards, as my everyday card. Zero interest and cash back plus bonus for being a bank member. And just use my Amazon card when i buy things off there. I gotta pay that balance off first but it's only like 140 right now. Score sitting at 761. Need to get to 800.

My credit was in the poor range (near 600) and just got approved for a Discover it Secured card. We'll see how this goes but this is the best route in my mind. Also just payed off two collections with one of them removed last month.

Not sure how I missed this thread but I'm bumping it, family! :blessed:

I've been working hard on my credit and got an updated score today.
My issue is I have very little credit history which is hurting my score:

Experian - 723 / Trans - 708 / Equifax - 626 (:mjcry:)

The only credit cards I have are:

Secured credit card - $1k limit (got this to get activity on my credit report)
Credit card through my credit union - $3k limit

I'm thinking about apply for a Chase credit card in hopes to get a decent limit and get more activity going.

But Idk brehs :lupe:
