AVENTURA, Fla. - An employee at the Macy's department store in Aventura Mall was arrested Monday on allegations that she defrauded several customers out of more than $7,000.

According to an arrest report, Samantha Saint-Louis, 22, allowed her boyfriend, whom she identified as Michael Green, to come into the store several times beginning March 22 and buy gift cards and clothing using people's Macy's credit card account numbers without their consent.

Police said each purchase ranged in price from $200 to $300 and were made using five customer's personal identification information.

The total of all the transactions was about $7,200, the report said.

Detectives said a Macy's loss prevention officer observed each transaction being made on the store's surveillance cameras after being notified about the fraudulent charges on the victims' accounts.

Police said Saint-Louis arrived at work Monday afternoon as normal and was detained by a store loss prevention officer.

She was then handed over to police and taken to the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center.

Saint-Louis faces charges of petty theft, third-degree grand theft, retail theft, fraudulently using someone's identification, unlawful possession of personal identification information and organized fraud.

Saint-Louis is being held on $100,000 bond.

The man involved in the transactions is still being sought by authorities.

South Florida always at the center of all the latest scams. Why am I not surprised. Glad I haven't been out there to that mall lately. Why would she even be dumb enough when she works there? Like lp wasn't gonna be on that ass in no time. You can even spot the suspicious customers these days. Working in retail, you already keen on what they trying to pull. Lately we been having issues with trying to but gift cards on credit. They try to load up a green dot card and use a fake card or something. So what they do is show the cashier a credit card and id but then do a quick switch and put another one into the machine. You gotta watch some of these guys. And it's usually always the same ones. Young black males, very talkative, trying to act cool like they not gonna attract any suspicion. Had a guy walk up to the door last minute the other night talking bout he needed one thing. I said what, he goes I need to get a gift card for my people. I already knew what the play wa and closed the door on him. My co-worker said he had been in the store before doing the bait and switch. Now that they got the credit card scammer thing going, all of them think they can jump in. And don't get me started on the idiot lady that purchased an itunes gift card cuz the fbi told her they needed her to confirm her identity. I told her to call back in the morning when my manager was there and tried my best not to burst out laughing. Gotta be careful out there especially with your credit. I keep all my accounts under constant surveillance. Too much bullshyt going on these days.

Now for what I came in here for. Excited that I got a cli on one of my cards. Only $500 and the available credit only went up to $800 but it's still something and helps my credit utilization. Thinking of putting a recurring service on that card since I rarely use it. Maybe get hbo now or something small and setup to pay off each month.

Police: James Macklin caught on camera making fraudulent transaction at Walmart

MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - A U.S. Postal Service mail carrier and her boyfriend were arrested Thursday on allegations that they stole numerous credit cards and used them in various transactions.

According to an arrest report, a USPS inspector was notified about several complaints from Miami Beach residents about mail that was never received. One of the victims called the inspector April 30 and said a letter from American Express, which contained a credit card, was never delivered.

"I had expected a new credit card from American Express," Spring Lite told Local 10 News. "It had been mailed out on a Monday and on Wednesday, I called to let them know I still didn't have it."

Police said American Express was notified and confirmed that the credit card had been used at Walmart to make a purchase of $430. 78.

Further investigation revealed that the person who made the purchase was James Macklin, 29, who was identified by a Post Office manager as the boyfriend of one of her mail carriers, Nasheria James, 28, the report said.

Detectives said James identified her boyfriend in a surveillance image that showed him making the transaction at Walmart. They said she confessed to stealing numerous envelopes over a five-month period that contained credit cards, and estimated that she had done it about 10 times.

James told detectives that she was not sure what her boyfriend did with the credit cards, police said.

After seeing James' mugshot, Lite said she immediately recognized her.

"Wow! Yes, this is the letter carrier who had just started this week at my house. She was brand new," Lite said.

Macklin was arrested while leaving a home in Miami.

Police said a loaded Smith and Wesson .40-caliber handgun was found in Macklin's glove compartment, and Macklin acknowledged that it was his.

Detectives said Macklin claimed that he was unsure whether he was the person seen on the surveillance video at Walmart. When asked if he had ever gone to that Walmart, Macklin requested a lawyer, police said.

Macklin was arrested on charges of third-degree grand theft and fraudulent use and possession of personal identification.

James was arrested on charges of organized scheme to defraud, unlawful possession of a stolen credit or debit card and unlawful possession of five or more personal identifications.

According to Lite, more than $1,600 was racked up on her American Express credit card. Lite said the purchases ranged from iPads to groceries.

Jeff Krafels, assistant special agent in charge from the USPS Office of Inspector General, said James, who is no longer employed with USPS, had been an employee since May 2014.

According to Krafels, James was a city carrier assistant at the time of her arrest and delivered on several routes since she was not a career employee.

James was last working out of the Normandy Beach post office.

It's unclear whether James will face federal charges.

Krafels said his office is compiling a list of victims who will be sent a notification letter about the arrests.

I got about 5 or 6 simply because there was a good 2 years I got addicted to trying to get my debt to credit ratio up. lol

two of those cards (both Capital One) got 1000+ balances on them because I nearly lost my left eye twice... once for each of those years and wound up putting all the medical expenses on them.

I just got an AMEX in the mail, but I'm only going to use it to try the 3x Credit Limit Increase next month.

year before last (may have been a bit longer) had bad allergies, right. My sinuses swelled up to the point it was literally pushing my left eye out of my head. the pressure partially re-tore (It got it torn years before by some fists, bats and boots) the retina. I literally had blood coming out of my eye socket like tears. Also slowly cracked the carapace in the roof of my mouth. Now I use a neti pot regularly.

Last year someone thought it would be funny to replace my eye drops with some industrial strength peroxide based cleaning solution (okay it was me I just grabbed the wrong bottle cause I didn't have my contacts in). Burned the cornea damn near off. By default one of the most suddenly painful experiences of my life. The pain literally slammed me back in a corner and I was couched there trembling and staring into space. I couldn't even breathe to scream. The pain paralyzed me. It was my very existence. lol I had to rock an eyepatch or an opaque contact lens until it grew back.

nah, cause I'm pretty sure there was a point where I complained about simple shyt, too. Actually, I KNOW there was.:heh:

I DO get annoyed when people think I don't care cause I don't complain about simple shyt. Or harsh shyt that I've already been through.
