if you're a sane driver then you shouldn't have a problem with reasonable infrastructure that prevents cars from killing people.

You know what would cause less accidents? Less cars on the road. You know what would cause less cars on the road? Lowering the amount of Ubers and Lyfts in NYC, because before Uber and Lyft, traffic and road incidents were not this bad, and the numbers don't lie.
Ain't a damn thing wrong with that intersection. At MOST you could add speed bumps in the middle of certain blocks and even that is a bit much because if these dummies would cross at the intersection and not in the middle the street, we could eliminate A LOT of traffic ACCIDENTS

whats your beef with cars being associated with violence? those dudes bodies weren't thrown softly against the concrete wall.
improving public transportation and installing protected bike lanes would do more to decrease car traffic than any uber/lyft ban.

This right here is the intersection of Vanderbilt and Gates Ave. It is NOT a dangerous intersection and if you rotate, you can even see that a garden already exists there.
shythead TransAlt and that dumb fukk gentrifier Kathie Park Price has been working with that fukkboy Ydannis Rodriguez and the DOT to not only close off that intersection but put a PLAZA in front of the apartment building on Gates, not only removing parking spots for people who live there, and have been living in that area their entire lives and were the first Black families to even move into that section of the neighborhood, but adding a fukking plaza that NONE of the residents want, to the front of their fukking building! Hell not even some the Asian or Hispanic/Latino people who are moving in there want that shyt! It's literally just the CACs!
A child was killed at that intersection...BECAUSE THE POLICE WERE ENGAGED IN A HIGH SPEED PURSUIT.
And the DOT then made bogus surveys, biased in favor of changing that intersection, so they could garner support from CAC colonizers, most of whom are probably your buddies since you ride so hard for this crap.
It has nothing to do with "safety" or "public safety" but of course bleeding heart liberal shytheads and gentrifiers who have been moving into Clinton Hill and Fort Greene like a fukking plague over the course of the past two decades (and I know this because I live in this neighborhood) ALLLLL seem to believe that because THEY don't like cars and THEY want to be able to ride to work with their kid toting behind them in a wagon or some shyt, that we should ALL get rid of our cars and change the neighborhood for THEM despite the fact that two decades ago when there were much much more Black people living in this area, none of us were asking for "redesigns" or "reimagining" we wanted our trash picked up, our streets to be cleaned, and for cops to not hassle the fukk out of us.

There was no chase, dude was speeding, hit other cars, and caused a chain reaction.
NYPD keeps cops on foot patrol in the busiest areas, especially ones where people are always on the street.
