Trump is panicking.

Writing is on the wall if the economy doesn’t get back to normal. Donors are pissed, he’s coming into a re-election being unpopular and in a major recession/depression, and his legacy looks like complete shyt now.

Too bad he doesn’t realize that there won’t be a normal until we have a vaccine.
Yep he's panicking. These states need to let him sweat for as long as it takes.

No chance economy goes back to normal

Maybe it will recover a little bit but it has no chance of gaining back what was lost

Question is will that be enough? Doubtful

that dude is 70 himself, and he was talking about his own perspective :yeshrug: thats how he feels; he would take the risk. quote isnt as out of line as people are saying

and frankly, we're going to have to make this decision sooner or later, even though no one wants to say it out loud. look at the damage a 2 week shutdown has already done, and the utter inadequacy that a TWO TRILLION dollar stimulus has provided. theres nothing sustainable about forcing people to not participate in the economy when we're talking about 30 percent unemployment

im willing to stay my ass at home, but im also fortunate enough to be able to keep getting paychecks from home. millions of people arent in that boat :yeshrug:

Well pelosi is saying now a deal is close

But im.sure thats the reason why they want a 1 time payment

Which im ok if its high enough and they are willing to come back and readdress it if necessary

A one-time payment is unacceptable in any circumstance:

1. The Senate is a graveyard according to the majority leader himself, so no, we are not going to waste time with re-evaluation by putting out a short-term deal.
2. Despite the economic fears, we are guaranteed to be living with and dealing with covid-19 for the remainder of the year. So any deals, stimulus or breaks should last the remainder of 2020.

Yup all those goodies are in the bill

I disagree on debt forgiveness. It’s another form of stimulus. Stuff should be forgiven and frozen.
:usure:You wouldnt happen to have any college loan debt would you. :jbhmm:

That would make your perspective biased, aside from someone like @the cac mamba who actually paid off their debt in a reasonable time frame.:smugfavre:

Im with you and agree

But hypothetically

If they were willing to do a check of like $3k rather than 1.2k and then put in the legislation to issue another check based on certain indicators then that would be decent.

Edit to add: for instance..if they would additionally raise unemployment checks to 100% then issue another check if unemployed was at X amount in 3 months then id vote for that
