Not implying they're the same, but they really should've remembered what worked for Austin and booked Roman accordingly. The crowd organically got behind him. Even after he won the rumble in 97, he didn't feud for the title belt. fukkery ensued and he went after the IC title and got into a great feud with the rock. THEN he moved on to the world title. With Roman, he was hot for a rumble and then they instantly decided to strap a rocket to him rather than letting it grow.

He started talking and people realized he couldn't talk yet so they dumped on him. His matches were meh so people dumped on him. Then Daniel Bryan happened and people dumped on him again.

The rejection of Roman is a combination of a lot of things besides his booking: Daniel Bryan, the situation with CM Punk, and people being tired of Cena, All of it points to the crowd telling Vince that he doesn't listen and they're tired of the bullshyt. Yes, there's a story to be told and its always best to go along with the story until it reaches its conclusion, but people are tired of this story that they didn't really ask for to begin with. People wanted to cheer Austin and wanted him to get the belt. They asked for it and demanded it and copped millions of Austin 3:16 shirts to put their money where their mouths are. This has none of that
Roman Reigns is a wrong place wrong time kinda thing

You know what? I'm not even blaming Vince for this Mania. Sure the booking was bad, but it's always bad.

I'm placing most of the blame on the wrestlers themselves. Like, got damn did any of them even care? Even their special Mania gear was trash overall. This definitely felt like the "I'm just here for the paycheck" Mania. These people have overcome poor booking to deliver quality matches all year and then one by one, came out and either shyt the bed or delivered straight mediocrity.

That depends on what you believe. If you think that Cena had no say in his booking and just went along with Vince and a "do as im told" attitude once he became the guy, I agree with you. But if you believe the opposite, then no. This doesn't apply because in those situations Cena would then have leverage and power to mold his booking, something that the Shield guys lost soon as they split.

Cena was actually supposed to turn heel years ago. He had new gear and a new theme ready but Vince nixed it. Cena may have gotten say over who he could put over like any main eventer but the overall long range direction of his character.......nah. I don't know why people like to believe booking hurt EVERYONE but Cena who magically had Hogan level creative control the whole time. He was the guy because he could and was willing to play that role as long as necessary. Now Vince is trying to create a new guy and Cena has been jobbing and trolling ever since.

I think they are gearing up for some sort of late career Cena heel run. They should just attach Roman to that and let the beards do their contrary thing and cheer the overdue heel turn. Then they can turn him again in time for Mania and go over whomever is the big heel going into the event. Nah, it won't be the coronation Vince dreamed of but it'd get a better reaction. Plus being around a troll, heel Cena would probaly loosen Roman up a bit.

fukk it, make Roman and Cena the new 01 Austin and HHH. The Two Man fukkery Trip.

Yup. It's not specifically "him" fans are rejecting; its what he represents. Vince fell in love with him before anyone else did. When he's in the shield, we fukk with him but as a solo act? nikka is Tito Jackson status

Nah, it wasn't great. It was very good. I thought they could've went another 5 minutes. WK match was better tho.
It wasnt very good, it was simply good, maybe even a bit boring at times but overall disappointing. It was similar to punk and Jericho. It wasnt a bad match by any stretch of the imagination but they should have delivered so much more.

Ali and Cedric had that Wrestlemania sense of urgency in their match and the IC title guys as well. I didn't see that in any other matches.
