Eh, you could say that about Cena too. How much personality did Cena have to bottle up for that seven years of terror (2008-15) run we had to endure? Rome is just gonna have to stick it out. And this is only the beginning. Once he is THE GUY he is going to go on a looooooooooooooooooooooong dominant, McMahon curated and approved run. Strap in.
That depends on what you believe. If you think that Cena had no say in his booking and just went along with Vince and a "do as im told" attitude once he became the guy, I agree with you. But if you believe the opposite, then no. This doesn't apply because in those situations Cena would then have leverage and power to mold his booking, something that the Shield guys lost soon as they split.

I mean, both main title matches were boring as fukk. Y'all are basically arguing that fans should boo people they like. Which......I mean, no one does that. It's not like the fans were on their feet cheering throughout Styles and Nak. They mostly sat on their hands and clearly weren't into it.

Reigns fans have this weird persecution complex when it comes to the guy. Y'all knew the fans were going to shyt on him. They shyt on him every week. Pointing out that people were shytting on him and not others, a thing that happens literally every episode of this god forsaken show, isn't the "gotcha" moment some of y'all think it is.

This 1000%. Expected it wouldn’t live up to the hype because of aj’s MCL but Nak should have known better and taken the reigns to drive the energy in the match and it just was not there at all.
:beli: Nakamura learned that Orton technique. Entrance, taunts, strikes, signature moves, finisher, and go home. He's taking the work smarter route too literal, seems like he is in it for the big money than the matches at this stage of his career. Can't blame him, but he has been a big disappointment in-ring, now he's just relying on his entrance and charisma to get by on the main roster.

I never liked Nak. He’s whatever to me

We need that AJ vs Joe feud, so they can give us some 06 TNA levels fire

I think they are gearing up for some sort of late career Cena heel run. They should just attach Roman to that and let the beards do their contrary thing and cheer the overdue heel turn. Then they can turn him again in time for Mania and go over whomever is the big heel going into the event. Nah, it won't be the coronation Vince dreamed of but it'd get a better reaction. Plus being around a troll, heel Cena would probaly loosen Roman up a bit.

Not implying they're the same, but they really should've remembered what worked for Austin and booked Roman accordingly. The crowd organically got behind him. Even after he won the rumble in 97, he didn't feud for the title belt. fukkery ensued and he went after the IC title and got into a great feud with the rock. THEN he moved on to the world title. With Roman, he was hot for a rumble and then they instantly decided to strap a rocket to him rather than letting it grow.

He started talking and people realized he couldn't talk yet so they dumped on him. His matches were meh so people dumped on him. Then Daniel Bryan happened and people dumped on him again.

The rejection of Roman is a combination of a lot of things besides his booking: Daniel Bryan, the situation with CM Punk, and people being tired of Cena, All of it points to the crowd telling Vince that he doesn't listen and they're tired of the bullshyt. Yes, there's a story to be told and its always best to go along with the story until it reaches its conclusion, but people are tired of this story that they didn't really ask for to begin with. People wanted to cheer Austin and wanted him to get the belt. They asked for it and demanded it and copped millions of Austin 3:16 shirts to put their money where their mouths are. This has none of that

What's crazy, is that as I think about it, swapping Brock/Roman and AJ/Nak probably ends the show on a high note, and helps the opinion of the show. Even though the match wasn't what people expected, that post match turn (especially with the assumption that this was a case where the WM match serves as the beginning/middle/launchpad of the feud instead if the blowoff) definitely made it worth it, and would've been nice to end with.

Anyone else notice that every minority in WWE/NXT lost their matches this weekend except for Nia (Rock's first cousin) and Cedric who faced another minority in Ali. Very :mjpls: of WWE.
Naomi won the battle royal.
