Some loopholes would be closed, but as any other industry that gets its money from the goverment, they would have found a way to make all of that back and then some.
Not all industries get government money...only those that benefit government.
they didn't have jobs before he got in office. The entire world has been in a recession. Black unemployment has fluctuated up and down with the rest of America. There is no "jobs" button he could push(remeber congress has to pass this stuff) and there especially is no "black jobs" button anybody can push. He has concentrated on education, which ultimately is key to fixing black unemployment.
Since the 2008 crash, he campaigned on getting more jobs for Millions of Americans...instead more and more people are unemployed...entire cities are bankrupt( Newark New Jersey) and the promise of getting beneficial jobs continue to be just words. Sadly our money Billions of it has been going to Israel every year...increases every year by Obama....new wars he creates...( Libya spent 1 Billion on bombing, guns, etc). More money continues to be given to banks who are so called folding. Over 300 schools in Chicago, Detroit, D.C. are closed. No after school programs, no parks and rec. This is all in the inner city Meech. I can go on but you seem to be a naive apologetic voter who sees this man as doing no wrong.
I'm not in the 90's you still have yet to explain how Obamacare hasn't helped black people. Republican democrat 90s blah blah blah, has nothing to do with the fact that Obamcare is a good thing for most black people.
The policy isn't ideal, but I do agree with what it got right, and I appreciate the fact that its something more than endless rhetoric about what should/could get done. I didn't hail Obama as a civil rights champion(although he's about as close as you can get to that in 2013) the question was "what has Obama done with regard to civil rights" I answered Obamacare. All this other stuff your adding is pure conjecture.

My lil cousin 20 yrs old, got free cased a year ago by some racist cops, threw a serial scratched banger on him. All because he was a young black man tryin to do good. This happens on a daily basis, all over the country in every hood.
2 yrs ago I got flagged for no reason, pistol whipped and tazed while handcuffed, in broad daylight. I got charged with assault on an officer. fukked my record up, until that shyt just got thrown out. So until the charges got thrown, everytime I'd get pulled over cops run my name, come bak to the car with guns drawn.
This police corruption/ brutality shyt is a serious issue in the black community, perpetuating poverty. nikkaz is goin broke payin lawyer fees for shyt they aint do. Jim Crow still goin strong, black people gettin terrorized by those that are supposed to serve and protect.
so I salute anybody that can see thru this bullshyt and realize Obama dont give a fukk about the well being of black folks.

Obama's Healthcare Reform will help millions of Blacks have access to affordable care instead of running to the emergency room everytime they have the sniffles since they can't be turned away, the extension of Health insurance is one less burden that young blacks have to worry about until they are 26 potentially saving someone thousands of dollars in hospital bills.
Obama has done more to ease the burden of African-Americans getting an aducation than any President by increasing the amount of Pell Grants and working to place restrictions on the amount of interest on young graduates that they have to pay over the course of their students.
Obama has invested more money into traditional and alternative energy solutions creating thousands of jobs.
Unemployment claims have gone down and overall unemployment is trending downward, while Obama has no no real control over the economy, it shows that things are beginning to settle down.
Obama is speaking out for gun control which is the cause of many deaths to our black youth both intentional and by accident. Which makes him unpopular to both Black and White conservatives, who misread the 2nd Amendment.
Obama Signed a Bill making less stringent penalties for youth who possess small amounts of drugs, who are the #1 targets of these laws?

Obama is part of the Legacy of Black History in this country and has earned the right to be spoken of in the same tones as MLK. But like another poster said, history is so close you guys can't see the the forest for the trees. If you guys were alive in the 60's you'd probably blast Martin for playing pool and going PAWG hunting.
I'm not saying Obama was a Civil Rights champion but he has done things that have helped us directly as much as a President can and if you don't think he has then your anger should be at the stagnant Senate and Congress from both parties.

Alot of people don't even know he brought down that 100:1 rule for crack/cocaine to 18:1 a year in 2010. I mean there are people who LITERALLY think he has done nothing and keep repeating this nonsense.
I said it before and I will say it again, Obama has done more for you than Clinton. They just complain less because of how superb the economy was, and because of welfare reform. Now ask these same people what has Clinton done for them and they will either repeat one of the two. But don't even realize Clinton was the one who had that big increase in cops who they hate so much.

First off I'm not naive apologetic or any of this stuff your trying to project on me. Contrary to most people on this board, I'm out everyday making a difference in my community. I'm from one of those inner cities that you describe, I see it everyday. What your problem is you put this all on one mans shoulders. You forget that any and everything that can be done has to pass through congress. Think about the people that could have been president. The little Obama has done is millions of times better than what we could have got or what we have been getting. Sometimes we are to busy fighting the fight to see what we do have and what steps we have made torwards improvement. If Obama does nothing but inspire the little black boy/girl that grows up to make a change, then he was a better vote than anyone else on the ticket.

People also need to realize that if we can fix the problems at the municipal/state level a lot faster than at the macro level, it just takes too much time and bureaucracy for stuff like that to get to any President. All of the Cornel Wests and you poster's criticisms are valid, some more than others but we're asking one man to take way more weight than we should have expected anyone to carry and he has helped us in ways we won't see come to fruition for another 4 or 5 years.

Where do you think the original "what has Obama done with regard to civil rights" question comes from. Like I said, you're being 100% dishonest because never in a million years would you highlight the Medicare Part D act as helping black people. That was my point from the very beginning. My opening line was "lets keep it funky, you'd be calling obamacare romney care if this were still the election." I'm highlighting that you're a front runner.
It being a 90s plan has EVERYTHING to do with this. Its the crux of my argument. If this was not Obama's plan, you would NOT approve of it. If this weren't a democratic plan, you would NOT approve of it.
My argument was never based on obamacare NOT doing anything for black ppl. It was on you being dishonest about how supportive you are of the document. If this thread was, "yo in hindsight Romney may actually have cared about the 47%." And I laid out the Romney care law, you would not have made one single post in here qualifying that claim with "Yeah he was def putting on a front to win the election, but you're right, he's done a considerable amount for civil rights." That is, my point.
It's going to be wild in 2016 when we can no longer play the Obama card and actually have to agree with someone's philosophies to vote for em.
