Giving up 2 picks and more is overpay when there is legitimately no other competition. Being a good gm is learning how to manage your assets and not give them up for free. If 29 other teams were competing for Kyrie, it would make sense lol. BKN is so desperate to get rid of Kyrie that they are willing to lose KD. They have zero leverage
The likelihood of a trade getting done between the two teams is little to none.

You're right that the Nets don't have MUCH leverage, but they can absolutely trade him to Dallas, if only to spite him and not send him to the team he's stated he wants to go, twice now.
Christie doesn't even get any burn. If he's all that's standing in the way of this trade, removing Westbrook and instant contention, you make the trade 10 times out of 10.
