Yeah, I’ve had a couple changes to get an xbox so far which isn’t much but still a bit easier than ps5. I got very lucky with the ps5

If it wasn’t for COVID and working from home, I would of likely never gotten the opportunity to cop both consoles

new consoles = new manufacturing/distribution has to get set up and streamlined.

the fact consoles even came out at all in 2020 in time for a decent holiday rollout is incredible in itself

Yeah, using Apple as an example is bad, since they sweat any time Foxconn does some dumb shyt. They REALLY don't want working conditions aired out. Also, for the most part, the yearly release schedule actually ends up helping them. A lot of the components are iterations of stuff they already had a pipeline of.

Console launches are different (especially this time around), since AMD isn't just using an off the shelf GPU in these things.

All that aside, logistics aren't working the same way right now, either. It's a minor miracle anything gets anywhere on time on a regular day. Triple that for what's going on now.

A few days ago, the Microsoft store had XBX stock for 6+ hours. This is in Canada though.

Yes, but the demand for the PS5 is much higher. And I think there's less PS5 stock.

Following stock tracking accounts on twitter makes it easy to get an XBX. It makes getting the PS5 possible, but it'ss still difficult.
