So you think he's a better fit than Jrue Holliday or CP3. Why didn't you address Beal, Oladipo, or LaVine? If he's too good to trade for Jrue then trade him for someone better, right?

How do you work MPJ into being the #1 option if his teammates don't want to pass him the ball because he doesn't want to pass the ball?

How long are you going to let his shytty defensive instincts fukk up team chemistry when the Nuggets are on the verge of being title competitors?

And how are you going to keep him from leaving after next year when he clearly wants to be a star and you have a team that already has multiple go-to stars?
None of those players help them win a championship. I just decided to highlight Jrue Holiday and Chris Paul.

This is year one you are assuming team chemistry can’t improve and he can’t improve and you’re assuming he can’t be a star in Denver and want to stay. MPJ is a no nonsense, intense dude who wants to be a star he felt a way about being snubbed for playing time all season. He’s hungry and made a P.R. blunder let’s not indict him based off that.

The Nuggets are not on the verge of being title contenders. They were down 3-1 in every single series they played in. There’s a good chance they never get this far again with this core.

In my opinion you let Jamal and MPJ handle the offense and Jokic focuses on distributing and rebounding and exerts more energy on the defensive end. Jokic can score and is clutch but he doesn’t have that scoring motor, fouls can get him out the game, and at the end of the day he’s a big man who needs someone to get him the rock. Do you know how deadly MPJ can be off-ball as a cutter and spot up shooter with Jokic. He’s also one of the only guys who can create his shot. He’s what they need a forward who can flat out score.

Jokic and Murray are still young what’s the rush? Give Bol Bol and MPJ time to develop.

Nuggets made it to the WCF with Will Barton out and Gary Harris hurt, so claiming this is their peak doesn't make sense to me, especially when they have cap space and the opportunity to add a 3rd star.

MPJ is a poor fit on this team both offensively and defensively. You assume that he can become a better fit. But what's the downside in trading him for someone who is already a better fit? If MPJ has as much potential as you say he does, then won't other teams recognize this too and be willing to offer equal value?

And bytching to the media wasn't just a PR blunder. His coach was already upset at his inability to play within the team's offensive and defensive schemes and that's why he wasn't getting minutes. His teammates were already upset at his failure to pass the ball and that's why they were freezing him out. Straight stats show that he was the least likely guy in the league to pass the ball once it touched his hands. All those issues were already true BEFORE he went to the press and demanded the ball more. And he did it twice. And he was straight wrong - the Nuggets beat the Clippers without giving him the ball more.

Coach doesn't like him, he doesn't like coach, teammates don't like him, he doesn't like teammates, he doesn't provide what they need defensively and he isn't going to get the chance in Denver to reach his potential offensively. And he's just a year away from his first option year. That's too many reasons to trade him for someone of equal value but a better fit.

Will Barton and Gary Harris wouldn’t have made a difference. If Jamal Murray didn’t play the best basketball of his life they wouldn’t have even made it passed the first round.

He’s not a poor fit offensively that’s simply not true. Denver’s offense was better with him on the floor in the regular season and playoffs. He’s exactly the type of scoring forward they need. His defense is a work in progress but again he’s a rookie.

Next year free Porter.

First two pages with the GOAT Clippers hate

Also so many horrible takes in this thread about why the Lakers were supposed to lose to Denver.

LWO exposing the casuals and the hate that clouds logic.

Lakers in four forever
Easiest road to title they saying now. But 1.5 months ago Portland best 8th seed ever, Houston small ball line up unguardable, Denver resilient and Jokic impossible to guard. Wonder what the excuse for finals be

the nuggets don’t actually run an offensive system that is one of the problems with MPJ coming in. He is way to talented to just be sitting on the perimeter like Harris, Milsap, or Torrey Craig. I keep saying Pop’s motion offense would work wonders with this group because it was tailored made for a big three. That is why the nuggets should move on from Michael Malone and go get Will hardy from San Antonio.

Malone isn’t a good coach and his handling of MPJ was egregious to say the least. Trading MPJ would be a grave mistake and would come back to haunt the nuggets. Will Barton is undersized for the three where MPJ would play and Harris has gotten worse offensively every year.
Also, they need to resign grant meaning milsap and Harris/Barton’s contract has to go. MPJ will be a number one option eventually and the rest of the nuggets need to accept that and work within that eventually reality. MPJ brings the size, length, and athleticism that neither Murray or Jokic has. He is a rookie his defense will get better with practice.

Talking about trading Porter :what:

Guy is a rookie, his potential is through the roof. I don’t think he’ll ever be a defensive stalwart, but he should become average just through size and length :dame:

let these young guys grow before trading anyone, Porter is exactly what they need on offense

They a championship team if Porter can become an All Star level player. Denver on the right track they should just keep it together and improve at the margins at most. They young so it’s only experience holding them back.
