It's wild how Sammy predicted and foreshadowed almost everything that happened in the movie Down to the ending.
I'm just gonna guess that those decoy cars that drove out were supposed to make it thru and he was going to exit in another vehicle to somewhere else. Decoys got clapped up too fast and the whole escape maneuver fell apart.
What do you think Trump's quote would have been? The decoys were just to buy time. Suicide mission for whoever was inside. Looked like possibly presidents fam. A trump move for sure
What do you think Trump's quote would have been?
He even called out Lee's whole disposition and burnt out apathy towards everything...definitely foreshadowing the 3rd actIt's wild how Sammy predicted and foreshadowed almost everything that happened in the movie Down to the ending.
If that was the point why make a movie where the audience follows around a protagonist who doesn't seem to care much and is largely unbothered until things get personal. I think she undercuts that whole messaging... If the protagonist doesn't care or seems unphased why should I? Including the back story would have given the plot some actual stakes for the audience to care about to get through the runtime.Great movie. I'm still a bit disturbed by some of the images in the movie. I've seen more horrific things but how it was shot really captivated me. Something about hit close to home.
The politics surrounding the war wasn't the point of the movie. I understand why they came up with such an illogical alliance of Cali and Texas being the "Western forces". Its meant to be besides the point. Plus there were subtle hints about the politics of it if you paid close attention.
The real point was driving home how terrible war is. The toll it takes on people at an individual and societal level. Its a warning to society about how treacherous and devastating a civil war would be. People, especially in America love to larp and fantasize about it but really have no fukking clue how devastating such a scenario would play out.
I give this movie a 9/10.
Everyone has their way of processing trauma. Her apparent apathy and callousness were just a defense mechanism she developed over the years as a war photographer. Also, you have to figure an experienced war photographer isn't going to react the same way to war the way a regular civilian would. If that was the point why make a movie where the audience follows around a protagonist who doesn't seem to care much and is largely unbothered until things get personal. I think he said exactly that. And, war journalism was a tool to serve as the lens for the things @Micky Mikey said, at least that's what I read.Naw this movie was clearly about War Journalism.
The specifics and politics of actual war/conflict didn't matter.
