Made me not

So many dead black people for a cast without much melanin

I found it weird that the whole race war thing isn't part of the backdrop for this movie, because at the end of the day that's what all these right wing nationalists are all about.

I haven't seen it, but I think it's sheer cowardice not to address it if that's the case

I noticed how multicultural the stadium was...

When Thufir is in that small town, he makes a joke like "I've been here before". I was wondering if he ad libbed that.

Thinking about it more, one of the major problems is that the West Coast might see Offer-Trump as a fascist dictator and have problems with it, but that's seemingly what Texas and Florida and the militia want. They would not secede from the union. That's why they wouldn't team up.

Big media is too scared at losing corporate profits and not outright calling Trump and half the population fascists.

Like everyone seems to have forgotten the church raids and camps for illegal aliens. They forgot the Muslim bans.

The big question for me watching Adolph Trump rise to power is that coastal elites will only ever try to raise awareness. Maybe vote or sue him in court. Snarky comedians and memes. Remember Covfefe?

That's the extent of resistance. I'm so smart, look at me, bow down to me l my insults.

Because resisting fascism any other way is beyond the pale.

When they had that first rally in DC on the national Mall, there were half a million females in pink hats. The white house is a bit more than half a mile away - 3 long blocks. Surprised they didn't bring the protest to Donald's front door.

They won't. They are all going to be Jon Stewarts in the way to the camps..

Slept on it. Got to thinking a little more and while I still like the movie cause the action, sound design, and cinematography were excellent, I’m finding myself disappointed in how they utilized the Civil War angle. It really is just used as shock value more than anything. And while it’s effective from an action standpoint, narratively it’s useless. Which is disappointing. They really just scratched the surface. Almost makes me want to say the movie lacked ambition. I know Garland wanted to play it safe politically, but he should have still found a story to tell about how America could become that broken. Overall, I’d say the movie is like a 7.3/10 with the action/ shock value doing heavy lifting. If I wasn’t from Atlanta, it would probably be a 7. But a lot of the first half of that movie looked like home so I was just watching like :sadcam::lupe::damn:. Definitely a movie to catch while in theaters tho. The action is absolutely gripping

They filmed it in Atlanta and Georgia in general lol. The DC stuff was sets and CGI

The stadium scene was Morris Brown

I thought the movie was visually really beautiful and they did a good job of weaving in the contrasting thoughts of dispair/apathy/fear that war brings. But as a story it felt shallow and lacking a good reason to actaully engage with the plot as a whole. I sat there for like 50 minutes wondering when things were going to "pick up" or become more gripping but it stayed with the same almost campy "cautionary tale" of journalism vibe throughout. It's not even really a movie about the civil war it's truly just a buddy flick between Kirsten and her protege lol.... I feel like the writers were too scared to actauly make a statement politically and that's why we really didn't get much details on the war itself...which is unfortunate because it's a great premise especially right now. Overall it was a mid movie script with pretty solid acting and great cinematography...if you got nothjng better to do it's worth a look but keep the expectations low.

I knew that empty stadium looked familiar I just couldn't remember what HBCU it was. But I remember reading about Morris Browns abandoned campus not too long ago and immediately recognized it

Saw in IMAX and the third act was incredible. Unfortunately I missed the first ten minutes of the movie so I was unsure how they even to got to a civil war scenario but from the reviews it sounds like that was not really touched on in the movie anyway

Yeah...

There's a part in it that makes you question some things.. but they just gloss over it real quickly
