I mean everybody loved Magic as a player and Jordan played the Magic role for one season just to prove that he can do it.

Passing from the PG position isn't as valuable as passing from the Swing or Big Man spot. The most important thing for the PG to be able to do is to shoot because the PG is furtherest from the goal most often. So if your PG is able to hit a 3s from 30 feet like Dame or Steph or even Trae Young that's more valuable then pounding the air of the ball and making passes.

Passing from the Swing and Big Man position is more valuable because they are traditionally taller and taller players can see over the top of the defense.

Guys like Larry Bird and Nikola orchestrate offenses from the post, which is more advantageous than passing from the perimeter. More actions can be ran from the post.

I agree, I always said, a passing big man is the game breaker. He fukks so many things up for others defending. Look at Jokic for example

Don't get it wrong, having a tremendous floor game also matters.

If so, that would explain the lack of rings.

Just look at the NBA championship teams of the last 25 years.


True PGs are pretty much insignificant on those Heat, Laker, and Bulls teams.

Would you classify Tony Parker, Irving,and Curry as "true" PGs?

What about Billips? Rondo?

Never understood the argument of true or pure PGs in the NBA. :manny:

Goal is to win championships. To do that, you need the best players. Not necessarily the best true PG.

Team success being predicated on a player doesn't mean that player is a true PG.
Case and point the 90s Bulls being based on Jordan.
Jordan wasn't a 1, he was still a 2, Steph is still a 2.
