When heads say 'it doesn't look like Chicago'. Are we saying the scenery is not Chicago, it some other city. Or are we talking about the characters style of speech, look, clothing etc. If it is neither of those what do you mean more specifically? I've never been to Chicago so please inform me.
All of what u said basically. It's not representative of the people. Culture. Slang. Dress code. Nothing. It doesn't look like a movie based on Chicago. Do y'all just think every single Chicago native is pissed for no damn reason? U got Twista ready to boycott the fukkin movie and he's a grown man and a Chicago veteran. I doubt he wants to see "Menace 2 Society part 2" like y'all tryna say. Y'all actin snobby as fukk right now.

All of the above damn near.:mjlol:

If you've never been to Chicago, why are you arguing with people FROM Chicago that the movie looks like shyt you fukkin tweak:russ:

No specifics? Interesting. It was filmed in Chicago so what are you talking about? Be specific.
I never said it looked like Chicago I said it is satire and doesn't necessarily have to be an exact copy of Chicago. You are allowed a certain amount of artistic license.

OK, I can't speak on Chicago style and culture so if it is not authentic to you I have to believe it. Unfortunately for you Spike playing to the entire world and not just Chicago works better for him, the studio, the majority of the audience. I'm afraid you will have to just kick rocks on this.

I am curious about that too because Spike shot the movie in Chicago.

Robocop remake was shot in Detroit, transformers was shot in Detroit, Batman and Superman was shot in Detroit

do those movies look or represent what is going on in Detroit

The gang culture presented in the trailer is nothing like chicago, most of the gang violence are coming from minors not grown ass men who are too old to be gang banging in the first place, the shyt looks silly

you take on a serious name like chiraq which has serious problems that need to be address

and you got wesley snipes looking like a comic book villain in the goddamn trailer, and you wonder why people got a problem

nikka i clearly indicated numerous times before and so have others that nearly nothing is right. :usure:It's just not Chicago, almost everyone from the Chi is shytting on this trash. Dress code is trash, no chi slang, nobody even acts like their from chicago, gangbangers look like some damned west coast LA nikkas:russ:, looks like a circus n shyt. Just to much shyt is wrong. he coulda made it satire and still got the feel and style of chicago, but he sure as hell didnt. Most of the cast of Barbershop wasnt from Chicago, but the movie still had a Chicago feel

:what: u think all these Chicago people were complaining for? Bruh I'm not even from Chicago and it's simple to me. I know if my shyt was being represented I would want it to be done right.

uh I didn't know that's why I asked. People are saying it, 'it doesn't look like Chicago' when it was filmed in Chicago. You can understand my confusion, right?

shyt look like it could be a broadway play.... i hate spike for continuing putting all these known actors in films at once...

if u make a movie about chicago or oakland or south central have at least 5 different people from different backgrounds in the hood and roll it into one....

i'll probably watch it in 8 months on showtime

Got these nikkas hanging out of cars and busting autos like its city of god. Nick Cannon in a scene ripped out of 8 mile with synchronized dancing like some early 2000 ATL video. (Nick Cannon playing a tough guy period) Samuel Jackson in the don juan role. Was that 80 year Wesley Snipes looking like Big Boss with the 30? I understand its a remake of a greek play, but when you put Chi-raq in that title, that shyt may not mean much to you in NY or buttfukk Montana, but it does around here. Like others said, I originally thought he was doing a doc ala Micheal Moore which would highlight the deeper reasons why this city is in the state its in, from the corner to city hall. Then I saw over the summer LaLa and snoop from the wire were in this and it was fiction. So I at least thought ok and good hood story. And what the fukk is wrong with that? Boyz and Menace are great accurate portrayals of inner city life that didn't delve into idiocy(like Baby Boy) Since when are those movies bad? Cacs have movies like Godfather, Gangs of NY, etc and they are cinematic classics. But only are criminal element movies are labeled bad, by our own kin of all people. And at least portray my city right. Not a single scene, wardrobe choice, casting, dialogue resembled anything Chicago. Spike just wanted a hot buzz topic issue to base some weird liberal artsy nonsense. Guarantee he came up with this eating cheese cubes and wine with his columbia cac buddies
:wow:
