There's too much with being open source to really have an effective ban. Distribution is way different and you're not getting that back in the bottle.

Companies or the govt might be at the mercy of a ban but regular people could easily circumvent.

It’s not an app or a url… even if they “banned” it it’s like saying piracy of movies is banned. There is no way for them to stop this from being shared on the internet.

All Open AI and the US could do is create AGI which is sci-fi levels of AI and at this point completely speculative and not even easy to identify what would be required to meet.

As of right now China has completely disrupted American AI business model and shown that some of America’s biggest companies have invested in overpriced vaporware. The market loss a trillion dollars in value in response to this fact.
