All these cryptic and vague messages, why not go “open source” and spill the beans like a true scientist? Tell us directly how companies are taking shortcuts, bypassing guidelines, breaking the law, etc. If you’re a true scientist or engineer, that’s your responsibility to the planet.

I think some people are actually just scared because they know they got vapor ware and grifting.

Basically: be a stand-up person, stand 10 toes down or just shut the fukk up. Everyone wants to be Tony Stark and it’s annoying.

This Chinese dude and his team kept their head down, kept working and kept moving then broke the world. Shared the work so everyone can see for themselves. No cut corners. Similar to famous scientists, physicists, mathematicians and engineers from the past, were very transparent.

If these “scientists” wanted all this attention, they should’ve gone into entertainment. That’s lowkey why a lot of people act this way mind you - they’re mad they aren’t some famous singer and don’t get the natural love from fans. It’s got to kill some of these people like Elon, Zuckerberg and Sam Altman that other scientists and engineers would rather hang out with Future or Kendrick for a weekend than them. I know I would 10/10 unless they promised me a baller job.
Something that's going to take a long time for Americans to learn is that intellectual property shouldn't exist

You do realize the term “public investment” refers to projects intended for civilian use right?

Lol

I guess Iraq and Afghanistan were public investment projects?
Military projects can be classified as a form of **public investment**, though this characterization involves nuanced considerations:

1. **Public Good Provision**:
Military spending is funded by taxpayers and directed toward national defense, a classic **public good** that benefits society by ensuring security. A stable, secure environment is foundational for economic activity, making this investment indirect but critical.

2. **Economic and Technological Spillovers**:
- **Innovation**: Military projects often drive technological advancements (e.g., GPS, the internet, aerospace innovations) that later benefit civilian sectors, creating long-term economic returns.
- **Job Creation**: Defense industries employ millions directly and indirectly, stimulating economic activity in manufacturing, R&D, and related fields.

3. **Keynesian Stimulus**:
During economic downturns, military spending can act as fiscal stimulus, boosting demand and employment, though this is more a short-term effect than a strategic investment.

4. **Opportunity Costs and Trade-offs**:
Critics argue that resources allocated to the military could be diverted to other public investments (e.g., education, healthcare, infrastructure) with more direct socioeconomic returns. The efficiency and purpose of specific projects matter—excessive or misdirected spending may yield minimal societal benefits.

5. **Geopolitical Context**:
In nations facing security threats, military investment is prioritized to deter conflict, which aligns with public interest. Conversely, countries in stable regions might prioritize non-military investments.

**Conclusion**:
Military projects qualify as public investment due to their role in safeguarding stability and potential for indirect economic gains. However, their value relative to other investments depends on context, project efficacy, and the balance between security needs and societal priorities. While not a traditional "investment" like infrastructure or education, they serve a unique role in protecting and enabling broader economic and social systems.

I don't understand any of this but I do know that the media loves sensationalizing shyt. It may very well turn out that this DeepSeek shyt is a temu chat-gpt and everything goes back to normal.

For my line of work I'd be interested in a free image generator that rivals MidJourney, or a free video generator (probably a fantasy though)
