It’s a vassal state to US empire. It has no sovereignty. It’s practically under American diktat.

The Jamaican people have no control over their rulers in Washington. It’s under a de facto dictatorship.

You know why Fidel Castro, when he took over Cuba in 1959, the FIRST THING HE DID after taking over was going to get on good graces of Jamaica? Cause he knew that Yardie lack of tolerating of authoritarian rule would end his reign quick.

If you want to live in China, give away all of your rights and call another man Daddy :dame: , by all means go ahead.

"Take back the means of production" :ohhh:

Talk that socialist talk, Hill :gladbron:
:sadcam:
Unfortunately she means for the factory bosses in the US
:sadcam:

On topic:
I gotta laugh @ posters in this thread talking about surveillance (In China) like Palantir isn't a company.

You can literally buy stock in the people watching you and selling your info to the government.
The same goes for IG/Facebook/WhatsApp and Google/Android and Apple/IOS/MAC and Windows.

We are so disproportionately unprepared for anything popping off against the state in this country because
counter insurgency and counter surveillance is literally happening all of the time.

It's the reason they're banning TikTok.

No, I think the context I asked it in is perfectly fair.

IF that's the marker for authoritarian.

Then what is this US?
WHAT IS THE US IF NOT AUTHORITARIAN ?

Just fukking 60 years ago (if you're black) your grand parents couldn't even VOTE.

And there was so much civil unrest going into the 70s that they violently stamped out any attempts
to organize.

@FINALE

HOW do you reconcile believing in Black American political progress while also simultaneously
absolving America of it's continued sins against Black people?

Same old Coli stupidity

You people won't realize that country is not our ally and is simply a necessary evil until it's too late.

How many troops does China have in the western hemisphere?

Zero.

How many troops does the great Satan have in Asia.

Key Deployments:

• Japan: Approximately 52,852 U.S. troops are stationed in Japan, primarily across various bases, including those in Okinawa.

• South Korea: Around 23,732 U.S. military personnel are deployed in South Korea, with major installations such as Camp Humphreys serving as central hubs.

• Australia: The U.S. rotates approximately 300 Marines through Darwin in the Northern Territory, enhancing joint training and regional readiness.

• Guam: As a U.S. territory, Guam hosts about 6,593 active-duty personnel, serving as a strategic location for operations in the Pacific.

The U.S threatened nuclear war when the USSR moved missles to Cuba. What do you they would do if China had this kind of military presence in the Caribbean and Central America?

Now as yourself who is the bad guy here?

China has never been an imperial power historically speaking anyway. They actually built a great wall to keep people out. :heh:

Compare that to Europeans The last 600 years is replete with examples of imperialism by Europeans and their descents which has resulted in more harm than at any period in history.

Watching posters stan America while hating giant multinational multi-industry conglomerates that have armed

the "totalitarian state of China" with bustling industries is the kind of incredible irony you expect to see in fiction.

:laff:

"I really hate china!!!" - a poster says as he sips from his plastic sippy cup shipped directly from China and purchased at
Walmart that completely fukks his local economy.

:laff:

I hate y'all man.

The U.S. has a multi-party system, free elections, an independent judiciary etc. You can argue all day about how similar or dissimilar the parties are but if that is the marker, automatically it is not authoritarian.

Calling the U.S. authoritarian because it's history of civil unrest and the existence of civil rights movements is inaccurate. If anything, the existence of the civil rights movement is evidence than the U.S. is not an authoritarian state. We have a framework that allows for activism and reform.

Also I'm not trying to downplay the history of racial injustice in America, just highlighting the differences. In China protests get broken up immediately or they turn into massacres.

Really state department of you.

We don't have to argue that.

That's literally what they are.

In practice they uphold the same things.

Whether it's a "Free market" where they bail out CEOs, Banks and Wallstreet in general while leaving your homeless, jobless and unable
to fend yourselves OR keeping us in a series of endless wars or proxy wars.

Calling the U.S. authoritarian because it's history of civil unrest and the existence of civil rights movements is inaccurate. If anything, the existence of the civil rights movement is evidence than the U.S. is not an authoritarian state. We have a framework that allows for activism and reform.
It's history of fukking destroying civil rights movements is in fact very fukking authoritarian.
That's not a "Debate".

That actually happened, pretty plainly so.
The CIA and FBI also acted as wings/arms of the government that engaged in a protracted war against it's very own citizenry.

The US has, currently DOES and will CONTINUE TO drop that boot on anyone who gets out of line.

Even very recent history DOES NOT favor what you just stated.

Also I'm not trying to downplay the history of racial injustice in America, just highlighting the differences. In China protests get broken up immediately or they turn into massacres.

Yes.
That's EXACTLY what you're doing by excusing some pretty blatantly terrible things.

Where are the *RECENT* Chinese massacres?

Not even four fukking years ago Trump was fukking protestors up ON LIVE TELEVISION, shyt !
Journalists from other countries were getting it!

Your entire post is COPE and cognitive dissonance.
