The ONLY reason people will stop tuning in is if Clark ultimately doesn’t live up to the hype. A hard foul isn’t gonna stop people from watching. In FACT, when the Sky and Fever play in two weeks, it will be a must watch game.

NBA players’ reactions and comments on wemby are a lot different than the WNBA to Caitlin, for them both being crazy hyped coming into the leagues. But that kinda tracks with men vs women.

Perhaps more importantly if anyone tried to fukk with Wemby his teammates would step in. The fact that nobody on Clark's team has done jack shyt to defend her tells you a lot about that league. I understand not babying a rookie but some (not all) of the hits she's taken have been ridiculous.

I think the bigger problem is a lot of casual people tune into the WNBA for Clark now only to realize it's a league where at any given time there might be three talented players on the court, and the other seven are out there playing rugby. It's a shytty product full of players trying to break each other's hips. I'd imagine they'll change the rules to make it better for Clark and the chicks who are coming next (Bueckers, the USC chick, etc). Gotta get those dyke enforcers out of there lol.

Also, Angel Reese not only being black and flashy, but doing the hand wave towards her in the championship game after beating her had a LOT to do with the hype Clark receives because of white people feeling the need to “stand up” for her. I hate how the media gives Clark the credit alone. Had she played a mostly white team and nothing extra went on, Clark would’ve just been another #1 pick like Plum or Ionescu.

Thing about it is, if they changed rules to make it easier for Clark, it still wouldn’t elevate her because the players who are already better would elevate as well. Clark isn’t a dead eye 3pt shooter, she’s a volume shooter. She’s not a great ball handler. She’s not athletic. Someone like Taurasi might play another 5 years with new rules lol

Ehh, I don’t agree with this, sure the media may play a part now, especially with the race angle and all but I remember when CC was first getting buzz and the reason she got it was cause she was pulling up from the logo hitting 3s like Steph consistently, which we hadn’t really seen in women’s hoops, even in men’s hoops you don’t see it as often.

That said, CC will be fine, just like Angel will be fine, just gotta fight back, and in CC’s case stop all that damn flopping, but nobody in the W is gonna bow down and wipe asses for anyone, especially a rookie, and they shouldn’t.

I actually read it and don’t agree for the most part. I’m sure there are people who were interested in that but that ain’t got shyt to do with these jersey sales, attendance & endorsements at the levels they’ve been.
