Charlotte vs Raleigh ...

Which one of them backwater towns you live in bro ...

None of those places are really in between Raleigh and Fayetteville either. Sanford and Southern Pines somewhat, all the other towns are basically right on Raleigh or Fayetteville border...

I live in Fayetteville but I’m a veteran who a federal worker now. So I know plenty of people who are military or civilian worker who live them areas with nice houses they cool with making that 40-30 minute to Fayetteville. Then on the weekend they go to Raleigh to shop or go to eat. I’m talking about big ass houses in that 300k-500k range. In Raleigh them type of homes in nice neighborhoods gonna run you a million plus.

is Charlotte or Raleigh better, I heard from my cousin who frequents North Carolina that they're both very nice

Both nice cities. Go with Charlotte if you want a bigger city with pro sports. Raleigh is nice as well though and less crime. If I were you, I'd look at the job industry you're pursuing and see which city is best for it. This is what I posted in another thread:

I'll say this, I've noticed Raleigh and Charlotte seem to be growing at similar very high rates with transplants coming from all over but I've noticed black people in particular gravitate to Charlotte and seem to view it on a much more desirable level than Raleigh where as white people, its kind of even. This is just casual observation though. Charlotte is a bigger city with more entertainment options but Raleigh is a place as well. Its probably the safest "big" city in NC and very family oriented. Good schools and was also ranked the 2nd most educated city in the country Raleigh is the #2 Most Educated City in America - Wake County Economic Development

Good stable economy. Big industries are government, medical, education, and IT/Technology. With Raleigh, you have to view it as part of its overall metro (the Triangle) along with Durham, chapel hill, etc which gives it a bigger boost. On the downside, it can be a little "stale" and kind of has a generic "any town, usa" vibe. Nightlife is kinda bland. Also getting more an more expensive along with the population growth. But if you want a nice, safe, place to raise kids/start a family, with decent economy, and basic general amenities Raleigh is a great place.

I almost moved to Raleigh but settle alittle south outside of Charleston, SC the house I wanted in Raleigh was $550,000…

The house I’m in now basically the same got it for $400,000

Raleigh ain’t bad but if you want a real city feel go with Charlotte…it is interesting so many colleges near Raleigh gives good energy but you gotta leave Raleigh for it

Raleigh surrounded be equally as many hick towns if not more.

I never really dealt with it felt any racism in Charlotte in my damn near 2 decades of living here

I think it depends on your career field and what you are looking for and future plans

Also what do you wanna have more access to.

Like if you like more of a social life and big city feel with the opportunity to see pro shot. Charlotte.

If you want to raise a family and be more slow paced in life and more of a homebody. Raleigh


Not saying you can’t raise a family in Charlotte…… but it’s the more “turnt up” of the too, if you have money and just trynna live life a little

I live in metro Atlanta and have visited Charlotte a few times. It’s relatively small but it seems real laid back. I’ve lived in NO, Houston, and Atlanta so I had to develop a somewhat thick city skin (not as thick as NYC, LA natives).

It took a while to relax myself but I didn’t really seem to need the normal “city self defense mechanisms”. Everybody seemed chill unless someone started something with them. There was traffic but it wasn’t crazy like some other places. Even in between cities it looked pretty modern. Asheville seems to be wakanda for white people though.

If someone was looking to slow down a little bit but wanted some city amenities I think Charlotte, NC or Charleston, SC (Charleston is a bigger, whiter Savannah) might be good to look at.

As a warning SC and some parts of NC are country AF though! Not Arkansas, Alabama, or Mississippi country but once you leave the city you’re pretty much in the woods, none of that urban/suburban sprawl as a cushion. You go from CVS and citi trends strip malls to mosquitoes, dead racc00ns, Rat snakes, and people picking their belly buttons real quick.

Breh….. when I was in HS…. There’s a small town outside of my Hometown called Trinity.

I was an athlete and we we played away games there, that was the first and only time in my life I remember feeling like I was in the 1940s-60s.

We literally was instructed to travel in game uniforms to quickly get in and when the game was over get straight to the bus and out that fukking town.

They used to try to spit at us, called us all types of “monkey’s” and “ni**ers” and throw rock and trash at our bus arrival and departure.

This fukking 94-98

I’ve never seen anything in Charlotte close to that level of racist….

Now I will say this to I guess things may be taking differently from me. I’m not exactly a small guy. I’m fairly big in stature (6’5 and a fluctuating 275 to 315lbs at times). So maybe I don’t get the same energy as someone smaller as naturally I come off a little more menacing and intimidating so I repel that energy

I’m not saying there is 0% racism in Charlotte. Cuz you want find that anywhere in this country.

But I haven’t felt anything here that I’ve felt in other places. Both in NC and in other states
