Really? :usure: both of them would be food or middling anywhere else except the PAC12 if talking we're Power5. :usure:

they need the BIG12 just as much as the BIG12 needs them. Well, texas can go indy, but they're still rebuilding so it's all money grab shyt.
Both programs were basically shyt in the latter ends of the Big 8 and SWC days. These two will bounce back no matter the conference. But it's mostly about TV eyes and competition. The only major city/market they have in the Big 12 is DFW. Houston is shared with the SEC and Big 12. The Big 12 even with a great Texas and OU will never be the SEC, Big 10, or Pac 12. Texas vs OU is the game. Other than that and Bedlam, nobody cares about the other match ups. If the Pac 12 could get Texas and OU, they would have the 2nd, 5th, and 8th largest markets in collegiate sports and would own everything west of the Mississippi.

Hold up. Is this guaranteed he's fired? I think if he wins 8 games and beats OU, they will have a hard time firing him.

Also, if Herman is the guy, they have to get a for sure YES from him, before they fire Strong. We can't get caught with our dikk in our hands again, like we did with Saban.

I miss the big 8 days and the Nebraska/Ou Nebraska/Colorado rivalries

OU and Texas need to leave the Big12 ASAP

They have to spend the whole year recruiting and game planning against this teams playing 0 defense and throwing the ball 60 times a game and only to play teams outside the conference that play more traditional
It's basically the SWC of the late 80s and early 90s. I remember Texas winning games 63-35. Houston had that run and shoot shyt going on. I really hate watching Big 12 games. I do not like 70-63 games that we saw with Baylor and WVU. I do not like 49-31 games or 48-41 games. It is boring to watch. Anemic defenses is just as bad as anemic offenses.

I think if the Texas gov't didn't get involved, it would have been the big 8 plus Texas and A&M. Basically a ten team conference. IMO, that would have been a better conference and I for one think 10 is a better number than 12.

That Baylor vs Iowa State game saturday sums up this conference.

The worse team(not including Kansas) vs the best team scoring everytime they touch the ball

I agree. It's like watching arena league football I don't find it entertaining at all. I hate it

It's ruined Ou and Texas because they have to build a team to win their cinference but aren't prepared to play elite physical teams from other conferences

No, They can compete in the big12(OU won it last year) Its just hard to win the big 12 and beat the elite teams outside of that conference.

Mike Leach and Art Briles ruined the Big12
well it's funny because Bob Stoops brought Mike Leach to OU/Big 12 from Kentucky, because when Stoops was at Florida he had trouble defending the air-raid.

So 17 years later, the same thing Bob basically introduced to the Big 12, bites him in the ass now every year on top of ruining the conference. :francis::snoop:

So you're saying they can no longer compete in the current BIG12?

that's more an indictment on them than the conference... :usure:

Doesn't make sense to me. :patrice:

It's pretty easy to see.

Texas was the final team to bow down and convert to an air-raid/pass happy scheme.

They have the most talent(or at least highest recruiting classes) in the league, followed by us. But in the end, you're not faster than a flying football. WR catches the ball, and if a defender twitches wrong or makes ones mistake, you're giving up a big play or touchdown.

The Air-raid was meant to somewhat neutralize teams with bigger, better, athletes against smaller shifty players.

@jadillac

The Big 12 had me thinking Brent Venables was washed.
yeah, it's becoming CLEAR now in retrospect....

Gary Patterson, a dinosaur, switched to air-raid offense because even as a defensive mastermind he can't stop Big 12 offenses. So you just gotta score more points.
now, Vance Bedford/charlie Strong are struggling, and Venebles is now thriving after leaving. He was AWFUL his last few years at OU.
Granted he has a little better talent now at Clemson, but overall these offenses are just insane.
