Same thing happening in the pac 12 now as well

Bill Snyder da gawd the only guy who is one step ahead, but he has no offense.

yeah, it's becoming CLEAR now in retrospect....

Gary Patterson, a dinosaur, switched to air-raid offense because even as a defensive mastermind he can't stop Big 12 offenses. So you just gotta score more points.
now, Vance Bedford/charlie Strong are struggling, and Venebles is now thriving after leaving. He was AWFUL his last few years at OU.
Granted he has a little better talent now at Clemson, but overall these offenses are just insane.

He should have never took that job tho like someone said already...he been on the chopping block since day one cause Texas is a entitled place who feel they should be in the conversation for the title every year and they have DEEP pockets...but they've only won less than a handful of national titles in their entire existence...plus he did himself no favors kicking so many big time recruits off the team

Exactly.

I live in this place. These rich white folks want Charlie to recruit their fat, sorry ass kids and since they pay big money to texas he has to recruit and play these kids.

He can't recruit them miami kids like he could at Louisville. They not gonna allow that at texas. Tom herman not gonna have much success their either. This why mac brown stopped winning.

:what: What makes y'all think Texas would even consider Les Miles? Les Miles just got fired because of the offensive & QB issues he has had all these years at LSU. Knowing that Texas has had the same issues since they last went to the BCS title game back in 2009, it should be obvious that Les Miles is not under consideration.

:lupe: I've been wanting Chris Peterson at Texas since the 2011 season. But if Strong gets fired after this season, I'd prefer Tom Herman because of familiarity with coaches on his Herman's coaching staff & Tom Herman's offense guarantees we will have more Black QBs.
The fukk you quoting me for?
I didn't say shyt about Les Miles going to Texas.

You're nuts man.

Mizzou and A&M both went right to the SEC and were winning within 1 year WITH Big 12 athletes. You forget Von Miller, Manziel(redshirt) etc were Big 12 players.

Defensively, Texas would hold their own in ANY other conference....offensively OU would do just the same anywhere else. Don't judge by the results you see in this conference. These mickey mouse schemes are killing this conference. If Alabama played an Ole Miss offense EVERY WEEK, they'd lose 1 game every year they have no business losing.
So you think ever team and coach for damn near a decade has been incompetent when it comes to defense?
It's pretty easy to see.

Texas was the final team to bow down and convert to an air-raid/pass happy scheme.

They have the most talent(or at least highest recruiting classes) in the league, followed by us. But in the end, you're not faster than a flying football. WR catches the ball, and if a defender twitches wrong or makes ones mistake, you're giving up a big play or touchdown.

The Air-raid was meant to somewhat neutralize teams with bigger, better, athletes against smaller shifty players.

@jadillac

The Big 12 had me thinking Brent Venables was washed.

It's just like Texas High School football playoffs. The top programs in the state that have D1 athletes on defense still get lit up on defense in the playoffs & every game is a shootout. The offenses ALWAYS dominate.
