Okay NOW we FINALLY going somewhere

jesus christ it's like the only way to make the plot go forward is to kill whoever is around denji and fujimoto took FOREVER getting here :why:

did he really just waste a Nayuta's character like that ;gucci: i mean i know devils just come back in a different form but he really didn't do shyt with that character besides the old "denji enjoys her, so i killed her  "

im glad he's getting clapped in the comments :camby: the payoff for all of this better exceed expectations or imma be reading this shyt bi-annually so i don't fall asleep from this slow dripping of mid he's been feeding us

@tripleaamin im 85% positive he's been eating Nayuta this whole time, the 15% of doubt is me hoping he's grown past all of the pain porn he was doing in FirePunch
Honestly for how slow part two has been, it would have been better to showcase more of Denji and Nayuta's day-to-day relationship. How each of them benefited the other to cause them to grow. Denji having some responsibility to be proud of and Nayuta become much more human in comparison. I felt she had a lot more potential then what Fujimoto did. But then again Fujimoto killed off all the part one cast minus Denji so nobody is really safe :manny:

Still the damnest thing Fami just sitting there and is the only one not shook :skip:I mean the Control Devil is her sister not necessary Nayuta, but damn she gave 0 fukks. We know she is plotting shyt and holding back.

This has to be where part two takes off because he now has Asa and Denji the two leads together with Asa knowing he's Chainsaw Man. We either are about to reach highs like we got in part 1 or part 2 is going to solidify itself as a disappointment.

I think she doesn't care because she knows how devil shyt works and control didn't really "die"

Even when Denji ate Makima in part one control still came back, so he never TRULY tapped into the power to erase shyt, I can give fujimoto credit for that one, technically chainsawman wasn't that feared at the moment and Denji wasn't in utter despair so he's being consistent with how he saying the power works

Agreed, if this story doesn't go to 10 immediately I have no idea how they're gonna salvage this when the anime catches up, no way in hell I'm an animator working myself to death for this slow of a pace

With this chapter now it is at this point if Part 2 will match up what Part 1 was, or it will be labeled as a mid-letdown from Part 1. Since there is no reason he needs to do anymore build up for part two.

It's already past that point imo all he can do is salvage this

Just counting the amount of chapters it took to get things going it's not even close, part 1 got to business way faster

Idk what to think anymore @storyteller

Have we ever seen 3 stories start off as strong as TOG,JJK, and CSM, ALL fall off a cliff roughly around the same time they finally started getting animated? :mjcry: I don't even wanna get hype for anything anymore, these were supposed to be the new big 3 (demon slayer didn't count imo cuz they got straight to the point and finished pretty quickly)

Every last one of these authors shyt the bed right after they wrote peak arcs, introduced us to a bunch of meaningless side characters only to kill em off or use them as an arbitrary power boost, I really don't understand what these guys were thinking, self sabotage from the pressure in Japan?

Definitely feels like the big turning point. I will say, this transformation feels different from the Makima fight. The organs leading the way to the transformation is new right? More importantly, CSM didn't instantly kill everyone in the restaurant. Everyone but Barem got to run away, which is an improvement from last time when Pochita getting angry meant random people getting sliced...but that could just be because of how quickly this happened.

Now I'm curious about this new special division. I'm not a big fan of new powerful groups being introduced on the fly like this, but the character designs are really interesting, so I'ma let Fujimoto work.

I was mad about Demon Slayer and Hell's Paradise ending too quickly...but they mighta had the right ideas.

I still think CSM can redeem itself, but I'm starting to feel like Fujimoto wrote himself into a corner and got bored with the direction. Even this chapter feels short, and the artwork has been slipping IMO.

Here's hoping the disciples of Fujimoto don't screw up their promising starts. Dandadan hasn't skipped a beat yet, Centuria is off to a great start, and it's not a Fujimoto student, but I think Gachiakuta has a shot to be really great too.

Yea man I feel like they should just stop once they get their original ideas off, none of this extending the story because an editor wanted to :camby: when I look at my all time anime list hardly any of em went past 50 episodes but the stories are so strong I still think about em regularly, attack on Titan might be the only exception but the storytelling was powerful enough for it.

Everyone else trying to be one piece and go on forever.

JJK should've ended already and CSM could've had us in endgame mode right now, TOG could've answered so many questions for us years ago but keeps piling on side character storylines to buy time it's hard to maintain interest chapter to chapter about the fodder.

ToG got bodied by power creep. All the interesting characters got left behind...TWICE! I rewatched S1 of the anime, and I really think Anak woulda been a better main character. She's strong but not OP, has the same goal as FUG, and she wouldn't break the power scaling after the 20th floor (plus she and Ran high key have the best fights in the series, because they're not a mess of shinsoo waves and colors).

I always think of Claymore when it comes to great manga that went on too long. The anime ended where the Manga probably should have, because everything post timeskip was disappointing.

I'm just now catching up on JJK. I dropped it at the pachinko machine power...I felt like the fights would translate WAY better animated, and I still do. I just have to catch up because the JJK community is the worst at spoiling plot points. So, now I'm catching up even though I know I'm gonna be mad.

CSM...I'm praying Fujimoto pulls a miracle off and starts connecting the dots in meaningful ways. But I can't get over cutting the facility raid to save Denji short, just so we could get a two-month build-up to that awkward back-alley mess.

This will be my last tog comment since this is the CSM thread but holy shyt :mjlol: I tried reading the last few chapters and our boy looks a fukking mess with 8 different abilities and exoskeletons floating around him, just looks lazy and unimpressive, power scaling went out the window as absolutely NONE of the characters we like are remotely close to his strength

I'll never forgive SIU for dropping so many interesting characters to bring in all these generic side guys

Manga plus
:myman: appreciate ya

I've been letting several series accumulate chapters so I can binge them at least 3 at a time and CSM has been one of those along with Kingdom, etc. Unless there's something truly transformative here, the spark is not just gone, the whole house is cold because he fell in love with "outside the box" and completely lost the vision.

JJK is at least still entertaining with the fukkery, CSM lost even that aspect a couple months ago minus a few chapters.

I think the series' biggest issue in part two is that we don't get enough content per chapter. Also, your point he is trying to be too creative. Like there are many interesting ingredients, but how do they mesh well together? Where is the story taking us? The theme of does Denji want to have a normal life or be chainsaw man has been consistent. But where are we going with this? The direction of this part has been all over the place.

If I were a betting man, I would have my doubts. Even though the pieces are in place. Tbh if this upcoming arc underperforms yet again, I might just switch to reading volume releases, since the pacing of reading this series weekly as stated before makes it feel sluggish honestly.
