I actually heard that Fire Punch has even more crazy batshyt stuff in it.

Fam, I'd argue that the first chapter of Fire Punch is more messed up than anything we've seen in Chainsaw Man. I literally read the one chapter and dropped the series with no plans to look back.

That shyt was so dark I decided to pause it get caught up in JoJo's manga before I revisited, taking my time slow reading cuz I know I'm not ready forreal

this is why y'all gotta love how carefree Chainsaw Man is, y'all didn't see the pain

Unlike with Nayuta, Fujimoto going the fukkery route instead of the wholesome route with Asa/Yoru.

Asa feelings for Denji are affecting Yoru. She might fell for him too. Asa punching herself the brief second she takes over again

Denji doesn't know it's two different personalities. He prob thinks Asa is some bipolar woman. I mean every woman in this series is like that to him

The cast is missing something without Power imo.

He's definitely dragging this arc out

But at the same time the first read through was a binge (I assume the same for most of us in here) so speed reading helped make part 1 what it was for me. But yea Denji needs to get focused cuz he's just all over the place RN and it's going nowhere

Falling into "mid" territory when you have a top tier world constructed around the plot is an awkward place



Random, but does Asa have anyone who gives a fukk about her she's missing a whole arm and hasn't had to explain it to anyone

Yeah, not much to work with but fukkery lately...The couple of "I guess maybe this could be something" observations I have are:
1. Fami's original plan was to starve Denji, because she could control him if he's famished. So, I got kinda excited when Asa mentioned being hungry. Then they cut to the sushi spot, and I guess not.

2. If Yoru and Asa's feelings and instincts are merging, it possibly applies to Denji and Pochita too. That might explain the cringey dog shyt he was doing, and why he went a little nuts right before Nayuta got attacked by the rioters.

It depends. If Asa feelings and desires merge with Yoru's then that shouldn't be necessary. Though we still got Fami and her schemes going forward, her angle is up in the air still.

It feels like Fuijmoto is trying to build a connection between Denji and Asa, so he wouldn't be willing to go that route. Nayuta's status is important because all of Denji's motivations and priorities go to her. If eating Asa would get her back, he would do it in a heartbeat.

I was taking a look at my volumes for Part 1 and the page count was still 20-25. Here in pt 2 lately it is more like 15-20. Then you add the release schedule changes and how part two is slower in nature. Less Battle Shounen and more character focused, SoL vibes and less fights. I still think it's clear Fujimoto still hasn't fully thought out what he wants in Pt 2 because these last 2 chapters could just have been 1 tbh.

I don't want to say mid because the ingredients he has is still great. This can easily turn around and can reach pt 1 highs. Maybe the plan he wants is Asa and Denji to have a stronger relationship before reuniting with Nayuta. Though if that is the case the execution has been rough since Nayuta disappeared.

Asa's mom is dead. I don't think her father is around. So yea she got nobody.

Well Fami could still be plotting shyt, for all we know she could control him before they get to eat. Next chapter should give answers for that.

No. 2 has been a thing since part one, Denji himself alluded to it multiple times so idk if there's much left to theorize about with them

With Asa and Yoru, it depends on the differences between a fiend and a hybrid

Poochita replaced Denji's heart entirely and made him a hybrid, we never seen Poochita actually take over Denji, you just get glimpses of the dog stuff and that's it, no past chainsaw devil impulses popping into his head like that

War Devil is just hosting in Asa's body and has half of the brain, so she's more of a fiend (usually fiends just take full control of the corpse, so this is a rare case) so there seems to be more of a separation

Imma say it's mid in terms of direction

I have completely forgotten the state of affairs and what the goal is right now outside of staying alive and fighting whoever pulls up to squabble, just feels a bit mindless, much like Denji

If he's doing a thing where he wants us to feel just as confused about everything as Denji is, that's a bit too meta right now imo I'm ready for whoever the current opps are to be cleared out so we can start fresh with a new arc, characters just popping up and doing whatever right now

An actual plot point is that Denji needs to be miserable . The fear stuff does make sense since I remember it feeds on fear basically.

did he really just waste a Nayuta's character like that i mean i know devils just come back in a different form but he really didn't do shyt with that character besides the old "denji enjoys her, so i killed her "



im glad he's getting clapped in the comments the payoff for all of this better exceed expectations or imma be reading this shyt bi-annually so i don't fall asleep from this slow dripping of mid he's been feeding us
