I agree she is a bit crazy but I fukk with Grace. She puts out her videos in a timely manner, actually talks a lot about the business side of things and has a lot of credibility talking comic book movies since she writes comic books. I don't agree with her a lot of times but she gives good info.

You posting a bunch of OPINIONS doesn't make it true. You didn't like the movie. OK. Doesn't mean it was trash.

I've seen it three times now and I really love it. And yeah, I'm a female. But honestly, if you had been watching a lifetime of movies with Captain Marvel and Black Widow, and finally got the first Thor movie, you'd probably be loving it too. Even if it's mediocre because damn, you'd be so sick of seeing women superheroes. But I understand, it's hard to put yourself in other people's shoes when you're so used to seeing yourself or people like yourself as the lead. This movie was not terrible, and the lack of a sharp drop off and up tick in its fandom online is evidence of that.

True but there are some objective elements of a film that can be used to value the quality of a film. Technical aspects in particular such as appearance, shot composition, lighting, sets, costume, VX.

Then you have the narrative, pacing, character arcs, accuracy etc, which are objective or at least far more objective than just raw "opinion".

Then you have acting, which again, can be judged on more than just subjective "opinion".

This is how film schools can actually function. It is why Marvel will never hire me to make a movie (because I would make an objectively bad one). And it why it is possible to form broad consensus about the quality of some aspects of a movie and the acting within it as distinct and separate from whether people "like" the movie themselves personally.

This duality is much like how I can objectively state that the living standards in Norway are broadly speaking far higher than in Brazil while simultaneously liking Brazil more.

They need to either write her out (not gonna happen), or totally re-imagine her. She is a terrible actress (in this). In trying to look tough she just looks ridiculous. Compare her to the rest of Star Force. All of them looked like seasoned warriors to a man, and woman, apart from Vers who was trying to act tuff while failing miserably.

Look at the poses she takes up in these scenes. Since was does being tough == clenched fist? Always... It is beyond a joke. Other actors show their steeliness by posture, stature, facial expression, tone of voice.

And it is not about aiming her weapons - else it would be held out like all the other armaments. See pic 4... It is because it is her free hand.

Gemma Chan showed ten times the sass, ten times the charisma, came across like a menacing warrior without any of the hackneyed physical theatrics. She displayed 10 times the personality and likeability with less than one tenth of the number of lines. All in the same film, with the same directors.

I think because the movies are so connected and some even with close release dates, they don't want to reveal to much.

In the case of Captain Marvel, the plot and story were simplistic. There were a handful of plot reveals, that if they would've showing more trailer footage, would've given it away.

I think they tried to market it as best they could, without being too cliche.

As for End Game, this movie doesn't need much hype. It sells itself, and the fact that they are not revealing too much info, only means more hype and more tickets sold.

because its one of the rare manga adaptations that doesn't shyt on its source material, pushes cgi that sets the standard in more ways than one, and it hit every note it went out to hit lol. if you want to criticize it, shoot. the dialogue is the first thing i pointed out too. its the first thing everyone pointed out. no one downplays that flaw.

valid criticism shouldn't make you mad enough where you gotta deflect to a movie down the isle
