I'm :patrice:at this point. There have a limited window to introduce Spider-Man even if a deal is made, and while we all know who he is, he's obviously had zero presence in the MCU. So him randomly popping up and picking a side won't have much weight without a proper introduction at the very least.

Also Black Panther is meant to be the neutral guy in this version of Civil War....so does that change if they get Spider-Man?

Fred.

Yeah but homie from Latino Review makes some good points in how to circumvent that: Put Andrew Garfield in the Avengers reshoots in a scene and you plant the seed. From the sounds of it though, this is going to happen, just a matter of when

Seriously, I don't understand why Sony wouldn't take the deal with them keeping creative control, marketing and distribution rights.

Same reason no one in hollywood in charge does anything like that: ego. But if you read the article on Latino Review, won't matter what they did or didn't do, their bosses are calling the shots which is why I said it'll more than likely happen with the 60/40 split production wise and Marvel getting creative control.

Marvel been known to have different scripts for the same movie wouldn't be surprised if they had one with Spidey included

They're running out of time though. The reshoots are next month, right? As of right now they don't have Spider-Man.

It's possible to shoehorn him into a future movie but for such a pivotal character in the Civil War arc you need to establish him as important. Not to us, I mean to the characters.

And if they can't do that properly, I'd rather they not use him.

Fred.

Time is definitely not on their side. Too bad they wrapped Daredevil already. They could have dropped Spider-man references in that, had him pop up on Agents of Shield and Age Of Ultron too. They wouldn't have had a character appear in all 3 parts of the Universe yet, so that would be a first and lend some importance to his role.

It's :mindblown: that Sony didn't want to take the 60/40 deal. Sign on the line, negotiate get a cut of that $300 Million toy revenue and keep it moving. Is it really that difficult?

Also Black Panther is meant to be the neutral guy in this version of Civil War....so does that change if they get Spider-Man?

Nah - Peter was the poster-boy for the pro Registration side. Tony convinces him to unmask on National TV and then his life goes down the shytter. If you think about it - pretty realistic. I'm pretty peaceful on here, but I would give a couple of posters the :ufdup:if I met them in real life. Spider-Man has been foiling supervillain plans for years and talking shyt while doing it....:pachaha:

T'Challa was getting married to Storm in the books around that time and he invited both sides of the conflict to the wedding on some 'Oh - is Black Panther going to have to mediate a bytch?' but they weren't hearing it.

I agree. But guys who get paid a lot more money than I do have to make those decisions, so that's on them.It wouldn't be unlike them to do it though. Any opportunity to make more money is an opportunity any studio will jump at

The leaked emails show that anyone in this thread is as qualified as the Sony execs to make that call. Only difference between us and them is a large, undeserved paycheque.

I wouldn't go that far man, this kidna stuff happens at studios everywhere, they just so happen to be the unlucky people getting their dirty laundry aired out in public. But we can't be to naive to think that it doesn't happen at any other studio in hollywood. We just don't get to hear about their bad decisions or bad ideas because no one is hacking them. But based on the leaks, it's just a matter of time before Sony and Marvel are sharing spider-man

:patrice:

If Jon Peters can go from Barbara Streisand's hair-stylist to a producer on Superman flicks tho...

I think this may force their hand in the Spidey Marvel deal, just because fan reaction will eventually make the feel cornered.

Nah their bosses in Japan are going to force their hand breh. It's one thing when a studio exec is saying no or yes but it's a whole different thing when the people who they work for (sony Japan) are calling the shots.

Yeah you're right, I'm not saying it takes a lot to do it but I'm just saying all studios have people making stupid ideas everyday, we just don't hear about them. I think Will Smith has a quote about it doesn't take much brains to run a studio or something like that

They running out of time though. The reshoots are next month. If Spidey doesn't have a cameo in avengers they cant just shoehorn him into cap when that movie already has Cap Ironman and Black Panther.
