Being more and more OP doesn't make the movie better. Nobody complains the Steve Rogers isn't as Strong as Captain Marvel. Because her movies are trash and her character is boring powers or not.

This dude has his own identity. They should focus on making a great story around that. Not making him more like steve rogers.

Superhero movies are meant to be action flicks

The Russos got people to like Chris Evans Captain America by crafting the movie around the action scenes which were inspired by THE RAID.

Winter Soldier movie doesn't work without the action scenes and fight choreography the movie had.

It has the best action scenes of any marvel movie outside of Infinity War and Civil War.

The movie also had a major twist that had a major effect on the MCU world which was far more inter-connected than it is now. That's why it was impactful as it was.

Black Widow had the same tone as The Winter Soldier (outside of Russian Captain America) and even copied the story, nobody cares for it because there was no memorable action scene/choreography.

The russos between Winter Soldier, Civil War and Infinity also kept going bigger each time.

Winter Soldier - fights/action scenes between supersoldiers,
Civil War - fights/action scenes between superheroes,
Infinity War - fights/action scenes with supernatural characters/galactic beings.

This is why it never got stale. Plus the movies were built around the action set-pieces and the movies were fast paced to get to the next action scene. Though Civil War was slower

If the Russos were directing this, they would have made Sam Wilson a supersoldier and had him fighting Red Hulk and other Hulks throughout the movie and crafted the movie around that which would have levelled the character up and made him "cool".

we had a great black lead with Chadwick. They should have recast when they had teh chance

• Wasted the remaining prime years (late 30s/early 40s) of Idris Elba and Chiwetel Ejiofor on race-bent tertiary characters, with ain't shyt to do but fill a quota scripting.
• Diminished, downplayed, and castrated Rhodey during his formative years with audiences arguably worse than they did Falcon; his D+ show is now bushed until further notice, per Nate Moore.
• Had a Blade movie script in which Mahersherala would be 3rd billing as the titular character behind a couple women, and the project been in developmental hell ever since the actor went WTF on them about that.
• Even before Majors f'd himself over, they had ol buddy make his grand race-bent appearance in an Ant-Man movie... in which he took an L to said character... and some ants.

So yea you're right, and i'd say Marvel/Disney created the problem. Mackie ain't the best actor in the world nor has the traditional look (pause) of a lead action star but they also weren't doing him many favors in the past 11 years they've had to help elevate the character. All the while making poor decisions to expand/diversify the black male lead quota.

I think we're at the point where we need to stop taking these guys reviews as facts because all it's gonna be is some "this movie is woke" bs really just because the lead or primary side character is someone these folks don't like.
