What? Shang-Chi was a moderate success at the box office despite being released when COVID was still more relevant and not being released in China (despite the Chinese actors and cultural references in the film).
WE CANT JUDGE THESE
RECENT MARVEL MOVIES
AGAINST THE EARLY PHASE 4
MOVIES WHEN MCU WAS STILL
RIDING OFF THE HIGH OF IW/EG.
SHANG CHI WOULD DO
THE MARVELS TYPE NUMBERS
IN 2025.

If Shang-Chi was released now, it would make even more money (especially if it got a Chinese release).
You can't compare Shang-Chi to Spider-Man. That's not a fair comparison AT ALL.
COVID MEANT NOTHING.
SPIDEY DID 2 BILLION
A FEW MONTHS LATER WITH NO CHINA
PPL WERE THIRSTING FOR MCU
AND DYING TO GET
BACK INTO THE MOVIE THEATERS
AT THAT POINT.
TENET WHICH CAME OUT A WHOLE YEAR
BEFORE SHANG CHI WAS EFFECTED BY COVID.

This is not true.
COVID WAS UNOFFICIALLY
OVER BY THE TIME SHANG CHI DROPPED
THEY WERE ALREADY BACK
TO DOING BIG CONCERT FESTIVALS
WITH HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS
OF PPL IN THE SUMMER OF 2021
SHANG CHI WOULD PUT UP WOAT
NUMBERS IN THIS MCU CLIMATE
This is not true.
I can tell you what isn’t a factor: Bringing up Lollapalooza attendance numbers in a box office discussion. If you gonna troll, breh…at least be good at it.
IDK WHAT THIS GIF SAYS
BUT COVID WASN'T A FACTOR
ANY MORE IN SEPTEMBER OF 2021.
EVERYONE WAS BACK OUTSIDE

Trying to “Thanos snap” the impact of COVID during then is some funny shyt. Whether audiences were comfortable enough to return to theaters was a loud topic in the industry back then.
2021 was also a time where studios were operating simultaneous streaming releases on the same day as their theatrical drops, which factored into overall box office earnings. I could argue this was the prime timeframe where audiences conditioned themselves to catch a new release in the comfort of their own homes rather than inside of a theater, thanks to COVID.
Did I say Shang-Chi was a same day release?
YEA BUT SPIDERMAN
2 BILLION DONT COUNT
SURE
SHANG CHI WAS NOT
A SAME DAY RELEASE SO
WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?
Did I say Shang-Chi was a same day release?
