If Im GGG I stick around at 160 and let one of these REAL 154lb guys step up because it's gonna be one or two of them. Hagler made a career of fighting Jr Middleweights / Middleweight contenders. If you think about it, his 3 biggest paydays came against 3 Welterweights
Canelo has more of a chance of stepping in shyt because if he looks mediocre against Smith that just lessens the appeal of the fight which again is pointless as shyt to wait a year and change for. Why not approach he GGG fight with "Strike while the Iron's Hot" where even in a close fight you have a rematch that'll make more money? Notice how Canelo's not demanding Oscar to make the fight like he did w/ Lara?
