October>Christmas: Doncic will have some highlight reel passes. Mavs will start off ok at around .500 or a little better. Young will have high turnover numbers and be food on defense. Atlanta will be a bottom 1/4th team. Narrative will be Dallas fleeced them
Christmas>all star break: Players will have a better feel for doncic’s game and start playing the pass better, forcing him to try to drive and finish. He’ll start to struggle. Dallas starts to fall back out of the playoff race. Young will get more comfortable and put up better counting stats despite the hawks still being bad and him still getting abused on defense. Narrative will be on some “actually the hawks didn’t do so bad
”
All star break>end of the regular season: Dallas is way out of the playoffs. Doncic isn’t unproductive but he’s struggling and visibly frustrated that he can’t do what he wants out there. Probably will be fatigued after playing a full slate of games this year on top of the demands of the nba next year. Young starts to feast on some tanking/injured/resting teams and posts some 35+ point nights. Atlanta starts winning a bit. Narrative will be ATL won
