Doncic doesn’t have near the touch or range Young has on his jumper. The type of shots he hunts, namely step backs and most of his pull up game, will be relatively harder for him to come by than what Young will look for.

I mean, yeah. Young is gonna be a very high usage player next year. Once he gets a better feel he’s gonna have a few huge stat nights. Doncic won’t be near that due to the team around him.

Note I’m not making a judgement on whether Young will be a better player than Doncic(right now he isn’t, and he probably won’t be next year), I’m just saying that’s what I see the narrative being.

There are plenty of players who don't have foot speed that have found ways to overcome it....

Whether it be an elite handle and footwork, shooting, bull strength, etc. combined with ballscreens.

Doncic already has a size and strength advantage even if he doesn't get switches.

The shot is literally the only piece of the puzzle between having some difficulty creating and being adequate in that regard and no one knows how it will look in year 1.

He's small. He's not only shorter than advertised but physically he doesn't have much weight to him, hes frail-looking, doesn't have long arms, etc. In comparison, Sabo is 6'3" but he's much more physically imposing than TY, has a 6'8" wingspan etc. That stuff matters.
