Really? If you get off the Internet, Black folks weren't really sweating her mixed ancestry much more than Barack's. The problem is unlike Barack she has tried to portray herself as something else than a Black woman. This gains you little outside the Black community (they still see you as Black mostly) but weakens you in the Black community (which feels some slight). I am fine with her talking about her mom and her immigrant ancestry but politically, acting like you can play some "New Black" on the national stage of half-MAGA America is at best shortsighted and at worst solipsistic.
Personal accomplishments, yes. Signature legislation and initiatives, grassroots support, no. It's easy to be impassioned and outspoken from the opposition which the Senate has been since 2012. The clownish stonewalling of the GOP hands out a lot of halos that may not have been as easy in normal times.
Also stop acting like her AG record in Cali does not exist. I have never seen a non-GOP Black politician so many Black people in her own state don't fukk with her.
