Can we stop pretending Kamala is a power player now?

I don’t remember anybody giving a damn about Mike pence. But Kamala gets bombarded with all types of hate and incompetence. I wonder why. :hubie:
Because she couldn't win, place, or show in her own state primary.
She has no substance.

They elected her as senator. She just isn't someone people want as president nor did people believe she would have beaten Trump even if they liked her.

shyt ain't this difficult.

We really didn't elect her. She is part of that NorCAL Bay area political junta that runs the state. She was hand picked to replace one of two dinosaurs and ran against tomato cans in a one party state.
But you are correct, it ain't that difficult.
Especially if you were the side piece of one of the most powerful players in state politics.

So I actually lived in California. She had highly contested elections when she first ran for state office. :unimpressed:

The problem with Harris is that she was more liberal than she should have been but the left didn't trust her because they were invested in someone else being president so they tried to paint her as a fake.

I live here too.
Those "highly contested races" consisted of dog & pony shows against others in her own party.
What did the people think of her as AG?
I remember pitchforks and tar.

I lived in SF then.

Black folks didn't really like her. White folks liked her and thought she was helping keep them "safe."

Ultimately she was pretty unremarkable compared to people's expectations, but not bad enough to keep her from becoming Senator.

She was a better senator than AG and actually looked representative of her constituents. But that also showed she isn't particularly principled as a leader as much as she's just ambitious.

It's hard to tell where she'd land if she were given more power such as being a governor or president and that's ultimately why I've never considered her a power player in the party.

I agree with all stated, but we should NEVER reward more power to hapless leadership - it only feeds mediocrity (see LA City Council and present CA Assembly).
