The Democratic Party is dangerously out of touch with the needs and priorities of the black working class (and the American working class more broadly), and has been for some time now.

A political party that claims to put the needs of working people front and center can't simultaneously support free trade with low-wage / environmentally destructive countries and mass immigration (legal or illegal, it doesn't make any difference). That isn't a recipe for improving the standard of living or quality of life of the average person.

Either the party starts responding to the needs and priorities of the folks it claims to represent...or it doesn't.

ACA was written by the insurance companies tho. In a free market, if people can't afford your products or services you gotta lower the price. Not maintain your unreal profit margins by bribing the government to force people to buy your products. And you can't even compare it to car insurance. A car wreck isn't guaranteed. Many people go through their entire lives without having one. But if you do, the cost of fixing or buying a new vehicle plus the medical care of anyone injured isnt something the average person would budget for. Everyone needs to go to the doctor at least somewhat regularly.

The next time you go to the hospital or, god forbid, the ER, ask for a detailed bill and take note of the outrageous prices and services that you're charged.

Urgent care centers popping up everywhere and treating people for a fraction of the cost of an ER visit while still being profitable enough to grow and increase locations should have been the first red flag that people are getting ripped off.

And if you got in a car accident or an undetected life threatening disease that no doctor can predict? Was it their fault that they got sent to the ER?

I'm all for alternative solutions, but conservatives think in absolutes, which isnt the case for most people in life.
